Durch das den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildende Verfahren ist nun ein Weg gegeben, wie man auch andere, im Handel befindliche, insbesondere Steindruckfarben, für Umdruckzwecke verwendbar machen kann. Ohne weiteres ist diese Verwendung nämlich nicht möglich, da die Steindruckfarben zumeist aus Teerfarben hergestellt -sind. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß man den Farben ein wenig Glykol und nötigenfalls auch eine kleine Menge eines Natriumsalzes zusetzt. Es kann z. B. schwefelsaures oder auch doppelkohlensaures, vorzugsweise aber benzoesaures Natrium verwendet werden. Es hat sich durch zahlreiche Versuche ergeben, daß Glykol für den vorliegenden Zweck ganz besonders günstige Eigenschaften besitzt und nicht allein als vollgültiger Ersatz für Glyzerin gelten kann, sondern diesem sogar noch überlegen ist, da es sich besser mit der Farbe bindet, und man etwa mit einer halb so großen Menge, wie bei Glyzerin, auskommt.
