Description
Solche Platten werden bislang aus Zink hergestellt, damit nach An-' bringung schwarzer Zeichen und Muster derWith a view to durability, metal reading plates are used for various purposes related, e.g. B. Exposure tables for photography. There's a graphic on the plate Curve system and instructions for use attached and above it a swiveling reading ruler is attached. Such plates have so far been made of zinc, so that after arrival ' bring black characters and patterns to the
The zinc is already heavy in itself at the present time available, the plates produced in this way have the disadvantage that if the lighting is inadequate as a result of the gray sheen of the polished surface as well as in artificial light or sunshine because of the light reflections Reading is very difficult.
Eine andere Abart des Verfahrens bringt auf die geätzte Platte nicht zunächst die Farbe und alsdann in Pulverform das den Farbton nicht weiter beeinträchtigende An-Schmelzmittel (Harzpulver) auf, sondern überwalzt die vorbereitete Metallplatte mit einerOn the basis of this knowledge, the subject matter of the invention is a method, accordingly the production of metallic reading plates even from inferior material, such as Black plate, is made possible and even with zinc plates the reading even under unfavorable Circumstances will be made easier. The approach is in the direction that the characters and patterns are deeply etched and the walls of the etched parts by thin strokes (black) are colored, while the flat surfaces with a contrasting color, z. B. white, provided will. The difficulties to be overcome here are based on the fact that on the one hand, the characters are not affected when the plane surface is stained and may be obscured that furthermore the surface must remain smooth so that the reading ruler can be moved with ease, and that finally the color enters into such a firm bond with the plate that by moving the ruler is not scratched off or removed or otherwise flakes off. For this purpose, first a deep etching of the lines and characters applied and the blackening of these parts made so that the wells are preserved and are by no means filled out. To Elimination of the etching base is then carried out according to one type of the new method a roller applied the color to the bare metal plate, so that the etched Places remain untouched and dry. Then it is applied to the plate, preferably by painting with a powder puff, a fine resin powder applied to the previously Adhered to areas provided with paint by the roller. By heating the plate, the resin is applied to the known white Plate melted. The etched, dry areas decrease when the resin powder is applied the same, so that they are freed from any particles that may have penetrated by blowing them out before the paint is burned can, or the resin in the depressions covers the black, deeply etched ones Signs with a colorless layer that does not impair their clarity. Another variation of the process does not initially apply the etched plate to the Color and then in powder form the melting agent which does not impair the color shade any further (Resin powder), but roll over the prepared metal plate with a

The essential feature of the metal plates produced by the new process is the deepened colored image and the one that was subsequently applied to the flat surface of the metal plate applied with it contrasting color layer. • The dull appearance of the paint prevents it the appearance of blinding light reflections when using reading plates made in this way in artificial light or sunshine. The new method is also suitable for the production of permanent metal signs which are exposed to the elements outdoors are and so far in email with particularly heavily applied writing or symbols were manufactured. In addition to the cheaper production, the new Process-made signs from black plate have the advantage that the jumping off of the Layer, but especially the thick characters, does not occur through impact with them. An attack of the metal is avoided due to the covering of both the characters and the plane surface with adhering paint.
