Description

Medizinische Saugtücher werden im operativen Bereich verwendet, um Blut und andere Körperflüssigkeiten eines Patienten aufzusaugen. Aus EP 0 485 736 Bl ist ein aus mehreren saugfähigen Gewebelagen bestehendes medizinisches Saugtuch bekannt, das nach Gebrauch gereinigt werden kann und somit für eine Wiederverwendung zur Verfugung steht. Ein besonderes Problem bei Saugtüchern stellen die Kantenbereiche dar. Diese Kantenbereiche müssen einerseits so ausgebildet sein, daß sie beim Waschen und ähnlichen Beanspruchungen nicht zum Ausfransen neigen. Andererseits dürfen sich in den Kantenbereichen keine Fremdstoffe, wie Blut, Körperflüssigkeiten oder andere Fremdstoffe, festsetzen. Als hydrophobes Material können thermoplastische Kunststoffe dienen. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Saugtuch liegen in den Kantenbereichen parallel zu der Kante verlaufende Fäden im wesentlichen in derselben Ebene und sie sind in einer einzigen dichten Gewebelage zusammengefaßt. Der Vorteil besteht darin, daß das Saugtuch im Kantenbereich eine sehr geringe Dicke hat, andererseits aber dort ein dichtes und festes Gewebe bildet, das bereits wegen seiner Dichte ein vermindertes Aufnahmevermögen für Fremdpartikel hat. Weiterhin können sich Fremdpartikel nur an der Oberfläche des Kantenbereiches anlagern, ein Eindringen dieser Partikel ist aufgrund der Dichte des Gewebes in diesem Bereich nicht möglich. Mögliche Fremdpartikel, die sich an der Oberfläche anlagern, können problemlos durch einen geeigneten Reinigungsprozeß entfernt werden. Die Kettfäden K setzen sich in der Gewebelage GK fort, wodurch die Gewebelage GK im Idealfall die gleiche Dicke aufweist wie eine der Gewebelagen G1-G5.
