Die Sockelkanäle üblicher Bauart haben eine vordere Abdeckung, wobei vordere Front und obere Ansicht aus einem Stück gefertigt sind. Der Nachteil bei dieser Ausführung ist der obere Wandanschluß. Da diese Verkleidung jederzeit für Neuverlegungen oder Änderungen von Leitungen abnehmbar sein muß, läßt sich die obere Kante der Verkleidung zur Wand nicht sauber darstellen. Da aus dem vorgenannten ©rund weder die Fuge zur Wand dauerelastisch geschlossen noch eine Tapete oder anderer Belag auf die Verkleidung geführt werden kann, bleibt immer eine unsaubere Fuge, die bei nicht geraden Wandflächen manchmal größer und manchmal kleiner ist.
