F. J. FRENZEL, MESSERFABRIK in SCHÖN AU β. SCHLUCKENAU, Böhmen.F. J. FRENZEL, KNIFE FACTORY in SCHÖN AU β. SCHLUCKENAU, Bohemia.
Verfahren zur Herstellung von Taschenmesserklingen. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 1. März 1914 ab.Process for the manufacture of pocket knife blades. Patented in the German Empire on March 1, 1914.
As is well known, you have so far the pocket knife blades, which one on the blade must have a knife passage with parallel, smooth surfaces, always beaten, being only. a skilled worker could evenly produce the sharp heel that on the knife at the transition of the blade after the knife run is necessary.
The present invention aims to manufacture such pocket knife blades to enable by rolling, which significantly simplifies the manufacture of these knives and can be cheaper and the exact design of the work pieces no longer depends on the skill of the worker is dependent. Attempts have already been made to cut tool or table knives and other flat steel objects through To manufacture rollers, but this is essentially always just a matter of to produce workpieces that run very evenly in cross-section, or at most to produce impressions in certain places without having to go through any tools Rolls would have produced, which received different cross-sectional shapes at certain points should. According to the invention, ordinary smooth steel strips are passed through rollers, which in one and the same Working process alternates the steel band into a rhombic and a rectangular one Roll cross-sectional shape, whereupon the knives are cut out in a known manner from the steel strips rolled in this way will. The parts of the steel band that have rhombic cross-sectional shapes always become two blades cut out whose backs lie in the middle of the steel band, while through the rectangular cross-sectional shapes the knife passages of the two blades are formed. The fact that the two to form pocket knife blades in one operation necessary cross-sectional shapes are rolled, the shoulders between the blades and the knife passages are always in the right place and have the necessary sharp edge exhibit at the transition point.
In der Zeichnung zeigen Fig. 1 und 2 ein Werkstück gemäß der Erfindung in Draufsicht und einem Schnitt nach A-B der Fig. 1, während Fig. 3 und 4 ein Walzenpaar zur Erzeugung der Werkstücke gemäß Fig. 1 und 2 in einem Schnitt nach C-D der Fig. 4 und in einer Stirn ansieht zeigen.1 and 2 show a workpiece according to the invention in plan view and a section according to AB of FIG. 1, while FIGS. 3 and 4 show a pair of rollers for producing the workpieces according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in a section according to CD of the Fig. 4 and shows in a forehead.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the workpiece has a part b between plane-parallel delimited pieces a, which correspond to the knife passage, which has a shape similar to a rhombus in cross section.
As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the cross-section of part b is reinforced in the longitudinal center, at which point the knife backs of the pair of blades to be cut are in contact with one another. Towards both edges, the cross-section tapers to form the knife edges. Fig. 1 shows in dotted line the pocket knife blades to be cut out of the workpiece, each pair of which receives the knife blade c from part b and the knife path d from part α. In order to achieve economical production of such workpieces, a rolling process is used for which the roller pairs shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 are intended. The f between the top roll e and the lower roller through solid metal strips, strips of steel or. The like., The KaIibrierung of the two rollers are shaped accordingly and resulting in continuous strips a workpiece according to Fig. 1 and 2. As FIG. 4 shows, the Rolls are calibrated such that the facing recesses g of the two rollers form rhombic shapes, the recesses h complement each other to form rectangular cross-sectional shapes, so that the finished workpiece, as shown in FIG. 1, has an alternating rectangular or rhombic cross-section.
