The invention relates to a covering device for swimming pools, with a profile rod made of hingedly connected to one another existing floating roller shutters and a winding shaft for winding the same.

A solution to this problem is to be seen in the fact that the winding shaft is mounted freely displaceable at least in its height and that the roller shutter winding outside of the liquid rests on a winding device which is formed by two rollers and at least one endless belt wrapping around this is, and that at least one of the rollers is coupled to a drive.
