Der Nachteil dieses Gerätes liegt in der Schwierigkeit eine luftdichte Verbindung von Tonkörper und Kunststoffkappe zu realisieren. Das ist technisch aufwendig. Außerdem verkalkt der Tonkörper, sodaß das Bewässerungsgerät nach einer gewissen Zeit unbrauchbar wird. Das kegelförmige Gerät wird fast vollständig in der Erde versenkt.
