Ein Bratofen dieser Art ist aus der DT-OS 26 05 699 bekannt. Die Zubereitung bzw. Bei Benutzung der Mikrowelleneinrichtung zum Garen wird zu deren Unterstützung noch zusätzlich die Unter- und/oder Oberbeheizung zugeschaltet, um dem Äußeren des Gargutes eine gewisse Bräunung und somit Geschmacksverbesserung zu geben. Es hat sich nun aber in der Praxis gezeigt, daß bei gleichzeitigem Einsatz der Unter- und Oberbeheizung im Bratofen und der Mikrowelleneinrichtung infolge der verhältnismäßig langen An- bzw. Aufheizzeit des Bratofens trotzdem keine befriedigenden Bratergebnisse erzielbar sind.A roasting oven of this type is known from DT-OS 26 05 699. Die erfindungsgemäße Lösung dieser Aufgabe besteht darin, daß in Bratofen ein unabhängig von der Unter- und Oberbeheizung steuerbarer Zusatzheizkörper angeordnet ist, der mit Einschalten der Bratofenbeheizung und/oder Einschalten der Mikrowelleneinrichtung^suschaltbar ist und der nach Erreichen einer bestimmten Bratofentemperatur über einen fest eingestellten Temperaturschalter abschaltbar ist. Als Temperatur zum Abschalten des Zusatzheizkörpers wird dabei vorzugsweise eine Bratofentemperatur von etwa250oC angesehen. Durch diese Maßnahme wird erreicht, daß bei jedem Einschaltvorgang zunächst eine große Aufheizleistung für den Bratofen zur Verfugung steht, durch die der Bratofen bzw. der Bratraum in einer relativ kurzen Zeit spanne aufgeheizt und nach Erreichen der genannten Temperatur automatisch auf eine kleinere Heizleistung bestehend aus der Unter- und Oberbeheizung zurückgeschaltet wird. Daraus ergibt sich nicht nur der Vorteil einer verkürzten Garzeit insgesamt sondern das Gargut und zwar insbesondere das Bratgut wird auch bei Einsatz der zeitsparenden Mikrowelleneinrichtung gut durchgebraten, so daß sich die den Geschmack eines Bratens bewirkenden Geschmacks- bzw.
