Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Based on practical experience, especially heating technology, as well as the Experiments by C. Bach, the resistance of the previous valves is disproportionately high, namely, the resistance coefficient according to "Hütte", vol. I, year 1908, p. 279, lies between 12.5 and 16.6, based on the fact that the water, gas and the like are the valve so far always had to flow through in multiple and strongly curved courses, while constrictions the flow openings increased this resistance on its way.
The present invention is now a new? Valve, which aims to remove the resistances, what the amount of water, steam or gas when passing through valves of the previous Art were opposed to reducing as much as possible, namely by the fact that the seat of the new valve at an angle, d. H. at an angle to the direction of flow while the valve body with the valve spindle is moved perpendicular to the direction of flow.
Such valves are already known in the form of spherical valve bodies. But if the valve seat is supposed to be designed in such a way that the liquid does it could flow through as straight as possible and without constrictions, the dimensions fall the closure body and the housing too large. This is avoided according to the invention in that as a closure body a slender cone is chosen, the seat of which is on a plane normal to the direction of flow projected, is almost equal to the full pipe cross-section.
In the drawing, the invention is, for example, in one embodiment in section illustrated.
α is the valve housing, b the valve seat and c the valve body in the raised state with spindle d.
As can be seen, through the inclined position of the valve seat b in the valve housing, after pulling up the valve body c, an almost straight, resistance-free passage of the water, steam, etc. Inlet pipe is, so that the above-mentioned resistances are all almost completely eliminated. The valve housing itself can of course also be designed in another suitable manner than indicated in the drawing, without the essence of the invention being influenced thereby.
