Bei Kartoffelerntemaschinen mit einem quer zur Fahrrichtung umlaufenden Wurfrad werden freihängende oder runde, auf dem Erdboden rollende Prallwände zum Auffangen der von dem Wurfrad fortgeschleuderten Kartoffeln verwendet. Das Ablegerad kann frei drehbar sein oder kann von der Wurfradachse z. B. mittels eines Kettentriebes s, k, r zwangläufig in der Pfeilrichtung angetrieben werden. Im ersteren Fall wird das Rad, dessen Prallflächen sich im Gleichgewicht befinden, durch das Gewicht der auf die Prallflächen fallenden Kartoffeln in der Pfeilrichtung gedreht.The disc wheel is shown in the drawing.
