Diese Maschine soll eine Ergänzung aller derjenigen Kartoffelerntemaschinen bilden, welche mit Schleuderrad versehen sind und welche den Zweck erfüllen, die Kartoffeln mittelst .eines unter die Stauden bezw. den Kamm greifenden Schares zu heben und dann durch ein über dem Schar vertical rotirendes Schleuderrad seitlich auf den Acker zu werfen, von welchem die Kartoffeln durch Menschenhände aufgelesen werden. Die Achse ist in zwei Theile zerlegt: in die rechtwinklig auf dem Kartoffelgraber befestigte, mit den Gelenken / und q versehene Achsenführung c und die eigentliche Achse mit dem Hebelarm s, welcher, nach oben zur Höhe der Fahrräder des Kartoffelgrabers gekröpft, bis zur linken Seite desselben verlängert ist und dort, auf dem Gestell des Kartoffelgrabers ruhend, beliebig verstellt und auf demselben befestigt werden kann. Da eine erhebliche Drehung nur dann gemacht werden kann, sobald die Ebene des Radkranzes b tangential zur Curve, die beschrieben werden soll, also normal zu ihrer Normalen steht, so mufs der Radkranz bei jeder gröfseren Wendung verstellt werden. Dies geschieht durch die Verschiebung des Hebels s seitens des Führers der Maschine nach dem Punkt /, und zwar mit Leichtigkeit sowohl beim Stillstand wie während des Ganges der Maschine, denn die gröfste Veränderung der Achslage beträgt für die Wendung auf der Stelle infolge der nahen Verlegung des Drehpunktes u an die Büchse des Rades b nur etwa 13 cm.
