Abstract

The rear sides of the cattle truck, or horsebox, are fitted with spring loaded reels (b) on which special tapes (c) are wound. In order to simplify the loading of animals into the vehicle the tapes are pulled out on either side to form a lane to guide the animals. This enables the drovers to drive the animals without fear of being kicked. Two operators can cross the tapes at the far end and further restrict the lane and force the animals into the vehicle. After use the tapes are wound in by hand cranks or spring pressure. The system can be fitted to any design of cattle truck or horsebox.
