Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist eine Schmierkanne, welche mit einem über dem Hauptbehälter angeordneten Überlaufbehälter versehen ist, welcher zum sofortigen Auffangen des beim Füllen der Kanne etwa überlaufenden Öles dient, und der durch ein Ablaufrohr mit dem Ausgußrohr der Kanne verbunden ist, so daß beim Gebrauch der Kanne der Inhalt beider Behälter verwendet wird. Um bei der Handhabung der Kanne ein Übertreten des Öles vom Hauptbehälter in den .Überlaufbehälter oder umgekehrt zu verhindern, ist der Verschluß der Kanne derart angeordnet, daß derselbe die Kanne sowohl nach außen hin als auch die beiden Behälter gegeneinander vollständig abschließt.
