<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Can for petrol or the like
The subject of the invention is a jug for gasoline or similar flammable liquids.
The invention consists in the fact that the can openings (outlet opening and air inlet opening) are closed by seals which may form fusible fuses, while the can spout is formed by a special pouring device, suitably equipped with an explosion protection, which is only inserted into the outlet opening after removal of the seals.
Figures i through 10 show various embodiments of the invention.
EMI1.1
The lid is indented in the middle below the flat iron, so that the flat iron 2 can be used as a handle at the same time. In this flat iron 2 there are two openings 3 and 1, which are closed by pressed-in, sunk seals 5 and 6 after the jug has been filled. As shown, the seat of the seals is expediently turned back so that the seal cannot fall out or become loose. This achieves a completely secure sealing of the jug.
The lead seals also act as fuses. The seals can be pressed into their back-turned seats by a seal press 7 (Fig. 3), which finds its abutment on the flat iron'2, onto which it is pushed sideways, which means that the container walls do not open when the seals are pressed in Stressed grazing. The flat iron can also be sunk into the lid so that it does not protrude above its surface, which makes it easier to place such cans on top of one another during transport (FIG. 4). The lid then has recesses on both sides of the flat iron in order to allow the sealing press to be pushed open to the side (FIG. 4).
One of the two openings 3, 4 of the jug, namely the outlet opening 3, is placed so deep that the gasoline can flow out completely when the container is tilted.
For the purpose of emptying the container, the two seals 5, 6 are removed (e.g. using a screwdriver) in the upright position of the container and then a tightly sealing discharge pipe 13 is inserted into the petrol outflow opening 3 of the jug (FIG. 5 with the container lying down) ).
An embodiment is expedient in which, as shown in FIG. 5, the outflow pipe 13 is fastened to a bracket 8, optionally detachably, which carries two mouthpieces 11 and 12 and z. B. by means of a screw 9, which has its nut 10 in the flat iron 2, so is placed on the can lid. that it engages with its two mouthpieces 11 and 12, which carry sealing washers 11 'and 12', into the openings 3 and 4, producing a tight seal. In addition to the outlet opening for gasoline formed by the outlet pipe 13, the bracket now also has an inlet opening 14 for air so that the jug can be emptied quickly, e.g. B. in the gasoline reservoir of an automobile.
In order to ensure that the gasoline in the can 1 does not come into contact with the outside air after the seals 5 and 6 have been removed, thereby reducing both the risk of explosion and the risk of. Contamination of the contents of the jug is eliminated, an appropriately resilient closure for the two openings 3, 4 is provided on the inside of the container lid, e.g. B. a flat spring 15, the two openings 3 and 4
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
resiliently closes and is only pushed back when inserting the bracket 8 by its extensions 16 and 17 (Fig. 7 and 8).
Wire mesh 18 and 19 or the like (FIG. 9) are arranged in both the outlet pipe 13 and the air inlet opening 14 so that the gasoline inside the container does not come into contact with the outside air, so that the jug becomes a safety jug by putting on the emptying device.
The wire mesh 18 of the outflow opening can also act as a filter. As FIG. 6 shows, the wire mesh is expediently arranged to be exchangeable. to be able to clean it.
9 and 10 show a bracket 8, which is designed at the same time as a key 20 for opening the closure cap of the petrol reservoir of the motor vehicle and as a tool 21 for piercing out the seals 5 and 6.
PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Can for petrol or the like, characterized by a removable bracket (8) in which the outflow opening and the air inlet opening and an expediently exchangeable drainage pipe (13) are arranged.
