Description
The present invention relates to a hollow chamber profile for a window or door made of a plastic, the plastic forming the inner walls and the outer walls of the hollow chamber profile, the inner walls and the outer walls surrounding the hollow chambers of the hollow chamber profile and at least one insulating element in at least one of the hollow chambers of the hollow chamber profile is used. In addition, the present invention relates to a frame assembly for a window or a door, which comprises at least one profile section of such a hollow chamber profile.
Hollow chamber profiles for a window or a door are produced in particular from thermoplastic material and are used on a large scale for the production of plastic windows and plastic doors. These profiles are predominantly manufactured from hard PVC (PVC-U) by extrusion. As a rule, they have several hollow chambers that are separated from one another by inner webs. By arranging a number of hollow chambers one behind the other in the direction of heat transfer through the profile, i.e. from the room-side outer wall to the weather-side outer wall, a high level of thermal insulation is achieved in such plastic windows and plastic doors.
However, by increasing the number of chambers that are arranged one behind the other in the profile in the direction of heat transfer, the limits have been reached, so that in this way only a slight further improvement in the thermal insulation achieved by a corresponding plastic window or a corresponding plastic door can be achieved. In addition, with the number of inner webs, the material requirement for such a hollow chamber profile also increases. Ultimately, the number of inner webs also limits the speed at which such a hollow chamber profile can be extruded because the required heat dissipation from a hollow chamber profile with a correspondingly high number of inner webs increases the requirements for cooling performance and cooling time after the extrusion.
This is where the present invention comes in, which is based on the object of providing a hollow chamber profile for a window or a door which at least partially overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, the hollow chamber profile according to the invention for a window or a door should provide improved thermal insulation properties with moderate use of material and a high possible extrusion speed. In addition, the object of the present invention is to provide a frame assembly for a window or for a door which comprises at least one profile section of such a hollow chamber profile.
These and other objects are achieved according to the invention by a hollow chamber profile with the features of claim 1 or by a frame assembly with the features of
According to the present invention, it was surprisingly recognized that the heat transfer through a hollow chamber profile can be significantly reduced if an insulating element designed as a plastic film provided with a metal layer at least on one side is arranged in one of the hollow chambers of the hollow chamber profile. Such a plastic film provided with a metal layer has a high degree of transmission in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum in the infrared spectral range, a high level of reflection and, associated therewith, a low emissivity. Accordingly, such a film has the effect of lowering the emissivity in the wavelength range from 3 μm to 50 μm, in particular in the region of the maximum of the thermal radiation at room temperature (approximately 10 μm). As a result, it acts as a good reflector for thermal radiation at room temperature and can be used effectively in hollow chamber profiles to improve thermal insulation. For this purpose, a metal layer, for example an aluminum, silver, gold and / or copper layer, is applied to at least one side of a plastic film to generate the high reflection in the infrared spectral range. The metal layer can have a thickness in the range from 5 nm to 200 μm, preferably in the range from 10 nm to 25 nm. The metal layers are preferably coated with a protective layer (in particular with an antioxidant effect), a decorative layer, a colored layer, a lacquer layer, a functional layer and combinations of the layers mentioned in one or more layers. As a result, if the number of hollow chambers is not too high, a good thermal insulation effect of the hollow chamber profile can be achieved. In addition, if the number of hollow chambers is not too high, the use of material is moderate and when extruding the hollow chamber profile, high extrusion speeds can be achieved due to the good cooling behavior of the extruded hollow chamber profile.
Accordingly, the present invention lies in the provision of a hollow profile for a window or a door made of a thermoplastic material, the thermoplastic material forming the inner walls and the outer walls of the hollow chamber profile, the inner walls and the outer walls being the hollow chambers of the Surrounding hollow chamber profile and wherein at least one insulation element is inserted into at least one of the hollow chambers of the hollow chamber profile, and wherein the hollow chamber profile according to the invention is characterized in that the at least one insulation element is designed as a plastic film provided at least on one side with a metal layer. In addition, the present invention relates to a frame assembly for a window or a door, which comprises at least one profile section of a hollow chamber profile according to the invention.
With regard to the hollow chamber profile according to the invention, it can be helpful if the plastic film is provided with a metal layer on both sides. In this way, the thermal insulation properties of the hollow chamber profile can be further improved. This metal layer can also have a thickness in the range from 5 nm to 200 μm, preferably in the range from 10 nm to 25 nm. The metal layers on both sides of the plastic film can be the same or different.
It can also be advantageous if the plastic film has at least one material weakening in the longitudinal direction of the hollow chamber profile. The material weakening (s) is / are preferably designed as perforation (s). The targeted arrangement of the material weakening (s) on the plastic fleece during the production of the film makes it very easy to produce insulation elements of the insulating bodies that are adapted to the hollow chamber cross-section. The plastic film particularly preferably has several material weakenings, in particular perforations, in the longitudinal direction of the hollow chamber profile. These perforations of the plastic film in the longitudinal direction enable flexible joining of the plastic film to any cross-section of the hollow chamber into which the plastic film is to be introduced.
The hollow chamber profile can be produced by an extrusion process known per se. The preferred material for the hollow chamber profile is polyvinyl chloride (PVC), in particular hard PVC (PVC-U) or post-chlorinated PVC. The material can preferably also be fiber-reinforced, in particular glass fiber-reinforced. The material of the plastic film is chosen so that it does not appear disruptive when welding profile spars from the hollow chamber profile. This includes polyvinyl chloride (PVC), in particular rigid PVC (PVC-U) or post-chlorinated PVC, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) as well as copolymers and blends of the polymer materials mentioned particularly suitable as plastic materials for the metallized plastic film.
In preferred embodiments of the present invention, the plastic film has a material thickness of not more than 500 μm. The material thickness of the plastic film is particularly preferably in a range from 100 μm to 450 μm, in particular in a range from 200 μm to 400 μm. Such a thickness of the plastic film offers sufficient stability with a material expenditure that is considerably reduced compared with the corresponding inner webs of the hollow chamber profile.
In equally preferred embodiments of the present invention, a plastic film metallized at least on one side is inserted at least into the main hollow chamber of the hollow chamber profile. The main hollow chamber of the hollow chamber profile, which is usually also referred to as the reinforcement chamber of the hollow chamber profile, in most cases represents the largest hollow chamber of the hollow chamber profile when viewed in cross section. As a rule, the main hollow chamber is arranged centrally and centrally in the cross section of the hollow chamber profile. In this respect, the plastic film is easy to insert into the main hollow chamber, where it achieves a strong thermal insulation effect. In addition to the main hollow chamber, such a plastic film which is metallized at least on one side is preferably also arranged in further hollow chambers.
It can also be useful if the plastic film is connected at least in sections to at least two opposing walls of the hollow chamber. The plastic film can only rest against the walls of the hollow chamber or can also be welded to them. It can be both inner walls and outer walls of the hollow chamber profile according to the invention. The plastic film arranged in the main hollow chamber, preferably in the main hollow chamber, contributes little or no contribution to the statics of the hollow chamber profile and the frame assembly formed from sections of the hollow chamber profile. So that the plastic film can remain stable in position in the respective hollow chamber, it is therefore preferred if the insulation element rests against at least two opposing inner walls of the hollow chamber. It is sufficient here if the insulation element rests against the inner walls of the hollow chamber profile only in sections.
It can also be favorable if the plastic of the hollow chamber profile is at least partially fiber-reinforced, in particular glass fiber-reinforced, in cross section. This contributes to the mechanical stability of the frame assembly formed from sections of the hollow chamber profile according to the invention. This is particularly important because the plastic film arranged in the hollow chamber does not, or only marginally, contribute to the statics of the hollow chamber profile and the sections contributes to the frame assembly formed by the hollow chamber profile.
The hollow chamber profile according to the invention is preferably made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), in particular from hard PVC (PVC-U) or glass fiber reinforced PVC, which can also contain post-chlorinated PVC (PVC-C). The hollow chamber profile according to the invention can particularly preferably be produced in a manner known per se by extrusion or coextrusion. The plastic film is inserted into the desired hollow chambers of the hollow chamber profile. The plastic film is preferably obtained by extrusion of the plastic core and subsequent one-sided or two-sided coating of the film obtained with the metal, in particular with aluminum, silver, gold and / or copper. The material weaknesses are preferably introduced into the plastic film before or after metal vapor deposition.
The hollow chamber profiles according to the invention are preferably used to produce a frame assembly of a plastic window or a plastic door. A window or door frame can be obtained by welding together mitered pieces of a hollow chamber profile according to the invention. The window or door frame obtained is intended for installation in an opening in a wall of a building or can be installed in the opening in the wall of a building.
The hollow chamber profile according to the invention and individual parts thereof can also be produced line by line or layer by layer using a line-building or layer-building production process (e.g. 3D printing), but production by means of extrusion or coextrusion is preferred.
