Abstract

Description

The grill skewer rotation drive serves to make commercial barbecue skewers of flat material on a gas, electric or charcoal grill to rotate simultaneously.

The only function is to rotate the grilled food placed on the grilling spit over a heat source in order to allow uniform cooking of the grilled food from all sides.

All known variants are preceded by a wide variety of individual parts and manufacturing steps of these items.

The problem of these variants is the large number of individual parts with their different manufacturing steps and associated manufacturing costs.

The advantage of the construction described below is that the number of parts required for the function as well as the number of required manufacturing steps for the production of these items have been reduced to a minimum. The production process of the individual parts takes place in a single production step. This manufacturing step is the cutting of the individual parts from metal sheets by means of laser cutting, water jet cutting or punching.

The grilled rotisserie drive consists of a back plate ( 1 ), a guide plate ( 2 ) Which with its inner contour, the respective outer contour of the individual gears ( 3 ) encloses to the area of the positive connection of the teeth in engagement and a front panel ( 4 ).

The gears are guided axially between the rear plate and the front plate and radially in the inner contour of the guide plate.

The gears have a thickness of 1.5 mm and thus have a 0.5 mm lower material thickness as the guide plate which has a thickness of 2.0 mm.

The gears have a 0.1 mm smaller outside diameter than the enclosing contour of the guide plate.

The gears have in the middle of an opening for receiving grilled pike.

This opening in the gears is exactly centered and depends on the type of grilling skewers to be turned. However, the opening in the gears must not be round because a driving in the rotary motion for the barbecue skewers is mandatory.

The back plate, the guide plate and the front plate are firmly connected, with the guide plate between the back plate and the front panel.

The back plate, the guide plate and the front plate preferably have an identical outer contour.

The connection of the plates can be done by screwing, riveting, gluing or welding.

The outer dimensions of the plates are variable in design and at least 10 mm higher than the individual gears and at least 10 m wider than the width of the composite of all gears in the entire unit.

In the front plate and the back plate are each, congruent to the openings of each gear, holes that allow a push through the grill skewers through the openings of the gears.

The holes in the back plate and front plate are at least as large as to allow a push through the grill pike through the overall construction and the subsequent rotation is made possible by means of the gears.

The gears are all rotated by rotation of a single gear by means of an externally applied force. This force can be done by turning an inserted grill skewer, a hand crank or by a drive motor, which are connected to a single gear. The distance and the size and the number of gears are variable and depending on the desired distance and number of spits to be rotated.
