Claims (14)

1. Gassackmodul, mit
einem Gassack (3) mit einer Gassackwand, die eine dem rückzuhal­ tenden Insassen zugewandte Vorderwand (11) mit einem Zentrumsabschnitt (13) und eine Rückwand (12) mit einer Öffnung (21) zum Anschluß eines Gasgenerators (5) aufweist,
gekennzeichnet durch
eine Befestigung (15), die den Zentrumsabschnitt (13) im voll­ ständig aufgeblasenen Zustand des Gassacks (3) so nahe an der Öffnung hält, daß der Zentrumsabschnitt (13) eine Einbuchtung (27) bildet, in deren Bereich der Gassack gegenüber dem unmittelbar an den Zentrums­ abschnitt (13) angrenzenden Ringabschnitt (23) eine um mindestens 40 Prozent verringerte Tiefe aufweist.
2. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch eine Modulabdeckung (9), die im Rückhaltefall zum Austritt des Gassacks (3) geöffnet wird, wobei die Modulabdeckung (9) eine ringförmige, vorgege­ bene Austrittsöffnung (14) aufweist.
3. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Modulabdeckung (9) einwärts der Austrittsöffnung (14) einen Rückhalte­ bereich (37) aufweist, der wenigstens einen Teil der Befestigung des Zentrumsabschnitts (13) bildet.
4. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Rückhaltebereich (37) an einer Halterung im Gassackmodul befestigt ist.
5. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Halterung eine den Gasgenerator umgebende käfigartige Ummantelung (33) ist, wobei die Halterung rückseitig am Gasgenerator (5) oder am Modulgehäuse (7) befestigt ist.
6. Gassackmodul nach einem der Ansprüche 3 bis 5, dadurch gekenn­ zeichnet, daß am Rückhaltebereich (37) ein von außen sichtbares Emblem (15) befestigt ist.
7. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Emblembefestigung zugleich die Befestigung des Zentrumsabschnitts (13) bildet.
8. Gassackmodul nach einem der Ansprüche 2 bis 7, dadurch gekenn­ zeichnet, daß die ringförmige Austrittsöffnung (14) durch aneinander angrenzende Klappen (19) verschlossen ist, die einstückig an der Modulabdeckung (9) angeformt sind.
9. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Klappen (19) am Innenumfang der ringförmigen Austrittsöffnung (14) gebildet sind.
10. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Klappen (19) am Außenumfang der ringförmigen Austrittsöffnung (14) gebildet sind.
11. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß einander gegenüberliegende Klappen (19) am Innenumfang und am Außenumfang der ringförmigen Austrittsöffnung (14) gebildet sind.

Gassackmodul nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Einbuchtung (27) durch eine innere Gassackwand begrenzt ist, die aus wenigstens zwei Wandungsteilen besteht, wobei ein vorderseitiges Wandungsteil (43) einen ringförmigen Zuschnitt hat und mit seinem Innenrand mit dem Innenrand der Vorderwand (11), der eine Öffnung zur Bildung des Zentrumsabschnitts (13) begrenzt, verbunden ist, wobei ein rückseitiger Wandungsteil (47) mit dem Außenrand des vorderseitigen Wandungsteils (43) verbunden ist und wobei die Befestigung des Zentrumsabschnitts (13) am rückseitigen Wandungsteil (47) angreift.
13. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Vorderwand (11) und Rückwand (12) aus zwei ringförmigen Wandungsteilen bestehen, die am Außenumfang miteinander verbunden sind.
14. Gassackmodul nach Anspruch 12 oder 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Wandungsteile miteinander vernäht sind.
