Abstract

An adhesive label is disclosed having an adhesive layer for gluing the adhesive label to and removing it from an object without leaving any residues, as well as a process for producing such adhesive labels. These adhesive labels can be easily produced, handled and removed from an object in that the backing sheet is cut in an outer peripheral region of the adhesive label along a closed curve to form a gripping tongue. One section of the curve coincides with the outer peripheral region of the label and the remaining section of the curve extends below the surface of the label.
