In der Patentschrift 181647 ist eine Vervielfältigungsmasse aus Kaolin und Glyzerin beschrieben, die durch einen Zusatz von Zinksulfat gekennzeichnet ist. Nur solche Salze ergeben eine Mischung, die eine für die Zwecke der Vervielfältigung entsprechende Feuchtigkeit der Vervielfältigungsmasse gewährleistet. Als Beispiele solcher Salze seien genannt: Natriumsulfat, Magnesiumsulfat, Ferrosulfat, Natriumphosphaf.
