Abstract

A fluorescent lamp (10) comprises an elongate hollow body (12) wherein a gas discharge lamp means (14) is mounted. Said body (12) further comprises an electronic mains connecting device (16) connecting said gas discharge lamp means (14) to a power line (18).

Description

Fluorescent tubes are very effective light sources. A disadvantage is, however, that in the ballast (choke) a considerable Reactive and power loss arises.

The invention is based, simply by off alternate the fluorescent tube and starter the blind and loss prevent performance in the throttle, d. H. after using the new electronic fluorescent tube is the power factor approx. 1.0, reactive and power loss in the choke are eliminated, even if the choke remains in the lamp.

Beschreibungdescription

In an outer tube made of glass or plastic ( 5 ) is an electronic ballast ( 3 ) with the miniature fluorescent tube ( 4 ) contacted by contact ( 7 ) and return line ( 6 ). The power supply is provided by standard fluorescent tube bases ( 1 ). Standard base ( 2 ) is short-circuited. This means that only a short-circuited starter has to be used in a normally connected lamp, so that base ( 1 ) is supplied with the mains voltage. The outer tube ( 5 ) can possibly also be designed as a half-sided reflector; this allows the light output to be bundled on one side.

Socket ( 2 ) may not be necessary if the tube is operated directly from the mains voltage, whereby socket ( 1 ) may be replaced by a permanently connected mains cable or another contact. (Plug connection, lamp base E 27, E 14, bayonet base or luster terminal).
