Description
According to the invention, the lower radiance, which is lost in most cases of the grate through a special design of the grate bars to heat the combustion air be exploited. Although this radiation is only a fraction of the heat lost in a boiler, so it is already sufficient to bring about a considerable warming of the air. It has already become known to heat the air in this way; however, this did not happen in the basis of the invention lying art.
The subject of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. Ι shows the cross section of the grate bars in an approximately natural size. The individual grate bars run from top to bottom, viewed in their cross-section, in such a wave-like manner that no straight line is conceivable that falls entirely into the cross-section of a grate gap, so that the direct radiation of the glowing fuel downwards is completely absorbed and so the. incoming air is heated better, care being taken that the falling of the ash and solid components is not hindered in any way. The radiation, which takes place in the direction of the line XY , is completely absorbed. The more radiation that occurs in other directions is therefore intercepted. At the same time, the grate gap gradually increases in a known manner from top to bottom so that the solid components can fall down unhindered.
The temperature of the grate bars increases until the one moving between them Heat transmitted through air is equal to what it is, be it through radiation it is obtained by ■ direct contact with the glowing layers of coal. The warming the air therefore limits the temperature of the grate bars and increases their service life.
The grate bars α can be connected to one another in pairs or three by means of their upper approaches. If necessary, they can also be connected to their lower parts so that they can better rest on the support points and so that the distances between their lower parts are more regular. The lower part of the grate bars can also be provided with shoulders in the middle, which ensure an even distance between the grate bars.
It is advantageous to drill holes b in the grate bars, but mainly only in the lower part, so that the transfer of heat from the very warm upper part of the grate bars to the lower part, which takes place due to the conductivity, is not impaired. By letting the air through, these holes not only set it into violent motion, but for a time hold back glowing coals which contribute to the heating of the air.
Nach unten hin kann die Dicke der Roststäbe fort-The upper thickness of the grate bars is more or less pronounced and depends on the Incineration activity and especially according to the weight you have. To the thickness of the grate bars can go down
die Einzelheiten derselben.can be gradually reduced to 2 or 3 millimeters without endangering their durability. In this way you can give the air a large heating surface.
Fig. 2 is a section through the furnace of the boiler. The grate consists essentially of grate bars a, as shown in FIG. To the front, however, the grate bars are less high, so that there is enough space to attach a vibrating device c. This vibrating device is very important, if not absolutely necessary, since the introduction of the poker is very difficult due to the curvature and the height of the grate bars. The vibrating device referred to here forms the subject of another patent and there is therefore no need to go into the details of the same.
Fig. 3 ist ein Längsschnitt durch den Feuerraum. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section through the furnace.
