Gemäß Patent 139567 wird Indigo bei Gegenwart von Sulfiten elektrolytisch reduziert. Dieses Verfahren läßt sich auch auf die Bromsubstitutionsprodukte des Indigo anwenden.According to patent 139567, indigo is electrolytically reduced in the presence of sulfites. B. in wäßriger, konzentrierter Salzsäure oder in 78 prozentiger Schwefelsäure, oder auch durch Einwirkung von Brom auf Indigweiß oder aus bromiertem Indoxyl (Patentschrift 132266).
