Ein genaues Zielen beim Schiefsen in der Dunkelheit wird bekanntlich dadurch fast unmöglich gemacht, dafs das Korn der Schufswaffe im Dunkeln nicht sichtbar ist. Man suchte diesem Uebelstand zwar u. A. dadurch abzuhelfen, dafs man das Korn aus blankem Material herstellte, um durch die Abspiegelung des Mondlichtes seine Sichtbarkeit zu erreichen, ohne jedoch in der Praxis wesentliche Erfolge hiermit zu erzielen. Aufserdem wurde versucht, das Korn durch phosphorescirende Mittel leuchtend zu machen, was insofern unzweckmäfsig war, als derartige Ueberzüge dem Einflüsse der Witterung nicht Stand halten. Endlich sind auch Versuche mit einer elektrischen Beleuchtung des Kornes gemacht worden, welche jedoch insofern nicht befriedigten, als die Lichtquelle dem Schützen mehr oder weniger sichtbar war und ihn daher blenden mufste.As is well known, this makes precise aiming when shooting in the dark almost impossible made so that the grain of the gun is not visible in the dark.
