Gegenstand der Hauptpatentanmeldung B 79877 VIa/31 b2 (deutsche Auslegeschrift 1263 993) ist ein Verfahren zum Stranggießen von Hohlkörpern, insbesondere von Rohrluppen, mit Hilfe einer ungefähr senkrecht angeordneten Stranggießkokille, wobei in S bekannter Weise wie beim Gießen voller Stränge flüssige Schmelze dem oberen Ende der Stranggießkokille zugeführt wird und der aus der Kokille austretende Strang entlang einer zunächst fallenden und hierauf ansteigenden Kurvenbahn bis zu einer Höhe geführt wird, in der ein weiteres Ansteigen des flüssigen Teiles des Stranges nicht mehr erfolgen kann, so daß beim Weitergießen bzw. Weiterfördern des Stranges das flüssige Metall im Inneren desselben nur bis zur genannten Höhe reicht und der darüber hinaussteigende Strang hohl ist.
