Description

Air duct in motor vehicles The invention relates to the air duct through gaps between the bonnet and adjacent parts of the body for ventilation of the engine compartment in motor vehicles.

It is known that in motor vehicles one extends over the entire width the body extending, substantially horizontally arranged hood to be provided, which has laterally pulled down wall parts. Between these pulled down Wall parts and the lower part of the vehicle results in such a motor vehicle a horizontal parting line.

It is also known that for the operation of an engine in motor vehicles Required air through gaps or special openings in the cladding parts of the motor vehicle.

It is also known to be between the rear edge of the hood and to provide a gap in the body to allow air to escape from the engine compartment. at A similar known arrangement is the gap between the vertical Side panels of the hood of a truck and the corresponding connection points at the cab.

These known designs have the disadvantage that the air duct used not only the ingress of air, but also of water and crevices Allow dirt into the vehicle interior and often even into the engine compartment. aside from that these designs require a raised or widened, laterally protruding Engine Hood.

The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages. she consists in the fact that with a extending over the entire width of the body, im essentially horizontally arranged and with laterally pulled down wall parts provided bonnet the joints between the bonnet and the outer fender shells to the columns for the air duct are expanded and that the engine compartment walls pulled up to close to the hood surface with the formation of air ducts leading upwards are.

Such an arrangement and design of the air duct in motor vehicles has the particular advantage that water can penetrate the vehicle interior is prevented very reliably and with extremely simple means. Also work the intended column in no way disruptive, as it is the result of the constructive Design of the body-related lines of the motor vehicle follow. Even In this way, very large effective cross-sections for the air flow can be created achieve. The dust and water separation takes place in particular through the raised Engine compartment walls extremely cheap, and the cleaning of the sedimentation Dust contaminated parts can be done very easily and is not caused by any Supports, struts and the like hindered.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. It shows F i g. 1 shows a motor vehicle with the engine at the rear in a view obliquely from the rear, FIG. 2 shows a section through the body wall along line 11-11 of FIG . 1.

The in FIG. 1 reproduced motor vehicle 1 has an end wall 2, the engine side closes the body cross-section, and a full-width engine hood 3 with laterally pulled down wall parts 4, which extends to the door 5 and to the rear window 6 of the motor vehicle. The fenders 7 adjoin the engine hood 3 on the sides. The gaps 8 resulting between the lateral end edges of the engine hood 3 and the fender shells 7 of the body are clearly shown in the sectional drawing in FIG . 2 to recognize.

From FIG. 2 it can be seen that when the air is guided through the gap 8 with the wall parts 4 of the engine hood 3 pulled down laterally and the raised engine compartment wall, the air supplied from the outside to the engine compartment 10 is deflected by about 901 and must first flow upwards, which creates favorable conditions for the dust - and water separation result.
