Description
Arrangement of a seat belt for occupants of vehicles, in particular Motor vehicles The invention relates to an arrangement of a seat belt for occupants of vehicles, especially motor vehicles, diagonally across the Upper body of the occupant approximately from or over one shoulder to the opposite one Hip part runs and both ends of which are connected to parts fixed to the vehicle.
The well-known seat belts, whose role models are basically the Seat belts in use in aircraft are, in some cases, considerable Defects with regard to their arrangement and their security guarantee. Are multiple the ends of the seat belts are attached to the seat frame and are called body belts or designed as shoulder straps. In particular with regard to the fact that in motor vehicles individual seats, like the two front individual seats, are usually arranged to be movable are and only locked by a locking device with the vehicle floor is not given sufficient security, because by the large forces occurring in collisions usually affect the seats in their entirety be torn from their anchorages and thrown forward. Also will if only one crossbelt is present, the upper body is not prevented from doing so anyway Falling forward in a collision, resulting in dangerous head injuries can. If additional shoulder straps are provided, these usually run from the vehicle floor, where they are attached, back over the backrest to the shoulder and then across the chest of the seated person. This version only makes sense when the backrest is rigidly connected to the seat frame. With a seat version as a reclining seat with an adjustable backrest is such a shoulder strap arrangement practically worthless, because the backrest locking device is the one that occurs in accidents is not able to cope with high forces. A deficiency of the well-known that cannot be overlooked Seat belt assemblies are still in the fact that the seat belts when not in use have to be left untidy on the seats.
Another known arrangement of so-called body or waist belts is to do this with the help of rows of holes provided on both sides on the seat frame to attach height-adjustable. However, this measure cannot be decisive contribute to the person using the harness in the event of sudden, severe delays to prevent it from happening.
It is also known in motor vehicles to have one-piece shoulder straps to use, the two ends of which are together behind the backrest on the vehicle floor are attached with the shoulder strap along the back of the backrest up and then diagonally over the occupant's shoulder and chest: between the backrest and the seat runs through to the vehicle floor again. This one-piece seat belt is not only double the length, but is with a high probability also show insufficient behavior in an emergency, because the backrest to absorb the released mass forces, at least in the initial stage, is also used. But especially the backrest, especially with a foldable arrangement at the seat, based on professional experience, is certainly unsuitable for absorbing the shock to help or to be included in the given circle of forces.
The invention is based on the object for a seat belt according to the type mentioned at the outset, one that is simpler than the known arrangements and to create cheaper execution.
To solve the problem it is proposed according to the invention, in upper area of the side walls of the car body at different heights fastening means to be provided for the upper end of the one-piece belt and the lower End of the belt in a known manner with the vehicle floor or with a to be connected easily detachably to the fixed part.
A preferred embodiment of the invention consists in the fastening means for the top end of the strap on the roof frame or on the top portion of a door jamb or to be provided on a roof pillar.
In an embodiment of the invention, the fastening means exist for the upper end of the belt in a manner known per se from several, individual fastening members, z. B. from individual fastening eyes.
In contrast to the well-known seat belts and seat belts, which are lying around on the seat when not in use and therefore do not make a proper impression awakening, as well as being a hindrance when sitting without being buckled up according to the invention - the lower end of the belt when not in use on the vehicle part, to which its upper end is attached, held by suitable connecting means.
Another feature of the invention is that of single front seats between these a fastening device firmly attached to the vehicle floor or to the seat leg, z. B. in the form of a bracket, for the easily detachable connection of the lower end of the belt.
The following advantages are associated with the invention: The The seat belt is made in one piece, i. H. simple in its execution. For it offers the person in question through its diagonal course over the entire Upper body and as a result of its upper and lower connection with parts fixed to the vehicle the greatest possible security. By the proposed attachment of its lower End on the vehicle floor and its upper end in the upper area of the vehicle body its length is limited to a minimum despite the best safety effect. In rest position, while the seat belt according to the invention with its upper end on the door post or the like is hung, it does not bother and is not messy on the Sit around. The eyelets attached at different heights allow despite the constant length of the seat belt an individual adjustment of the same to the respective height of the person concerned. When arranged according to the invention Belt no length adjustment devices are required in the event of severe delays would pose a safety risk due to possible slipping.
In the drawing, which illustrates an embodiment of the invention, the interior of a vehicle is shown in part, with a person on a seat sat down with the seat belt fastened.
The seat belt 1 runs over the upper body of the occupant, for example from or "over one half of the shoulder to the opposite hip part one end 2 of the strap is attached to the upper portion of the door jamb 3 while the lower end 4 with a fixed to the vehicle floor 5 part 6 in the form of a Bracket is releasably connected.
When not in use, the lower end 4 is unhooked, and the seat belt 1, 2, 4 hangs down on the door post 3 and can be attached to the same by suitable Brackets moored. will.
In the upper section - of the door post 3, there are several hanging lugs 8 for attaching the upper end 2 of the belt 1 attached. Also on the one on the vehicle floor 5 attached. Part 6 for attaching the lower end 4 of the belt 1 are eyelets 7 provided.
