Description
Device for cleaning exhaust gases from internal combustion engines It is known to lead exhaust gases from internal combustion engines through a cleaning fluid, to eliminate the harmful or annoying components. This was done z. B. by means of devices in which the exhaust gases experience a longer residence time. These were spatially relatively large and required additional resources, such as obstacle areas, Pumps, agitators and the like and were thus in the acquisition and in the maintenance expensive. This was also the case with those devices that used filters were replaced or at least cleaned at certain times had to be.
In particular, it is a device of the last-mentioned type for cleaning of the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines known, which via a manifold in a with low Distance above the surface of the cleaning liquid, openings below aufweisehdes and at the end closed exhaust pipe are introduced.
The disadvantage here is that the speed of impact of the exhaust gases on the cleaning liquid is now very low in the case of a weak gas accumulation, so that the subsequent connection of filters makes it necessary.
In order to achieve an approximately constant impact speed of the exhaust gases achieve, it is proposed according to the invention that the manifold arranged at a distance, has flaps controllable by gas pressure, in front of which more at a small distance arranged above the surface of the cleaning liquid and closed at the end Branch off exhaust pipes, and that the passage openings of all exhaust pipes are like nozzles are trained.
This ensures that the exhaust gases also fluctuate frequently Speeds and loads on the engine and therefore inevitably in different Amounts of exhaust gases are automatically throttled or regulated in such a way that that they always use the same one that is most suitable for an optimal cleaning effect Speed impinging on the surface of the liquid. Mainly when accelerating of the engine, this is an advantage because it has a particularly high proportion of unburned Residues such as B. Soot, tar and the like. Is emitted with the exhaust gases and from the cleaning device must be included.
Another embodiment of the device is according to the invention that on the controllable flaps in the effective length adjustable and under Attack standing lever arms. This has the advantage that the exhaust gas jam can be set as it would when using a normal, the characteristic the respective internal combustion engine adapted silencer results. The one on one optimal value adjustable exhaust gas speed allows in adaptation to the respective Type of exhaust the setting of the most favorable impact pressure for the cleaning effect of the exhaust gas on the cleaning liquid. According to the type and Amount of dirt contained in the exhaust gas, a more or less deep penetration these parts in the cleaning liquid and transfer them into the state of suspension achieved in the liquid. At the same time it is also according to the degree of pollution the exhaust gases swirls the liquid surface more or less, so that a appropriate scrubbing of the gases is carried out.
In the drawing, the device according to the invention is for example illustrated. It shows A b b. 1 a vertical longitudinal section, A b b. 2 one horizontal longitudinal section in plane II-II of A b b. 1 and A b b. 3 is a side view in the direction of arrow A of A b b. 1 on an enlarged scale.
The cleaning device consists of two rectangular housing parts 1, which are connected to one another by means of flanges 2, 3 and screws 4, each forming a closed unit. In the lower half of the housing 1, three exhaust pipes 5, 6, 7, which are horizontally spaced and parallel to one another, protrude. These are closed at their ends 8, 9, 10 located in the housing and equipped on their underside with nozzle-like passage openings 11 for the exhaust gases. The ends of the exhaust pipes protruding from the housing 1 open into a collecting pipe 12 which is connected by means of a flange 13 to the exhaust pipe (not shown) of the internal combustion engine. The exhaust pipes protrude about two thirds into the housing 1. A baffle plate 14 for separating off the liquid particles entrained by the exhaust gases is arranged above the exhaust pipes. In the lower part of the housing 1 drip plates 17, 18 are provided in space 15 on the longitudinal sides of the housing for the cleaning liquid separated from the exhaust gases. The front wall of the housing 1 is equipped with a drain valve 19 and a test cock 20 for the height of the liquid level.
In the collecting pipe 12 , flaps 22, 23 serving as throttle and / or regulating elements are provided, which are fastened to bearing bolts 24, 25 so as to be pivotable in the horizontal plane. The bearing pins 24, 25 are each equipped with a lever 28, 29 which is held adjustably by means of nuts 26, 27 and are held in their bearings by means of nuts 30, 31. The levers 28, 29 are each connected to a tension spring 32, 33, which in turn is attached to a web 34, 35 connected to the collecting tube 12. Like the A b b. 2 shows, the exhaust pipes 5, 6 are each equipped with a flap 22 and 23 , while the third exhaust pipe 7 has no flap. The exhaust pipes have the same diameter. However, these can also be different if this is dictated by the design of the cleaning device or the operating conditions.
The upper part of the housing 1 is designed as a storage container 36 for the cleaning liquid 16 and has a cap 37 for closing the filling opening 38 . A connecting line 39 with a shut-off valve 40 opens into the reservoir 36. An outlet pipe 41 for the purified exhaust gases flowing through in the direction of arrow b is passed through the reservoir 36 and is surrounded outside the housing 1 by a casing 43 forming a cylindrical cavity 42.
The exhaust gases to be cleaned are supplied through the collecting pipe 12 in the direction of flow. Depending on the type and size of the internal combustion engine, two or more exhaust pipes connected to the manifold 12 are provided. In this case, the last exhaust pipe in each case in the flow direction a of the exhaust gases - in the exemplary embodiments the exhaust pipe 7 - is not equipped with a throttle and / or regulating element. The flaps 22,23 are (b Ab. 2) by adjusting its levers 28, 29 and hooking the springs 32, 33 with a shorter or longer Hebelarmabstand from the bearing pin 22 or 23 and optionally by an appropriate choice of the springs 32,33 so set that they take the operational conditions into account, ie let the exhaust gases escape with such a speed in the exhaust pipes and thus through the nozzle-like openings 11 on their undersides that the exhaust gases with an optimal cleaning effect ensuring impact in the direction of arrow c on the surface of the Hit cleaning fluid.
