The invention relates to a protective device against thermal overload in vacuum cleaners with at least one driven by an electric motor, the dust-laden air through a fan sucking in a dust filter, the fan air flow cooling the electric motor, consisting of a temperature-sensitive one arranged on or in the vicinity of the electric motor Pulse member, a servomotor operated by the pulse member and one connected to the servomotor Control body.
In a known embodiment of the aforementioned protective device, the device is temperature-sensitive Pulse element designed as a liquid-filled temperature sensor between the windings plugged into the stator winding of an electric motor and thus during operation of the motor The stator winding is exposed to heating. The cavity of the temperature sensor stands with the Cavity of a pressure cell serving as a servo motor in connection. Temperature sensor and pressure cell are designed so that in the event of critical heating of the electric motor, the pressure cell interacts with it Control member in the form of an electrical switch, which is in the electrical supply line to Electric motor is arranged, switches off, so that the power supply is interrupted and the electric motor is stopped.
The invention is based on the object of a protection device against thermal overload of the To create an electric motor, which is based on the aforementioned protective device, but which not the electric motor in the event of an overload, as is the case with a vacuum cleaner with the blower air flow causes cooling of the electric motor, occurs when the dust bag is filling or clogging, stops, but the cooling of the electric motor according to the increasing degree of filling of the dust bag and the resulting increase in suction resistance and thus increasing engine load and increase in the motor temperature, so that critical heating of the electric motor is counteracted until the filled dust bag is emptied or replaced with an empty one.
The invention is essentially characterized in that the control member by a connection between the air outside the vacuum cleaner and the air path between the dust filter and valve device producing fan in the vacuum cleaner housing is formed.

The vacuum cleaner shown in Fig. 1 consists of a housing 10 with a dust filter chamber 11, a chamber 12 for accommodating accessories, a fine filter chamber 13, a motor chamber 14 and a blower chamber 15. The vacuum cleaner housing 10 is on the rear part with two fixed axles rotatably mounted wheels 16 and on its front part with one on one in horizontal Plane pivotable axis rotatably mounted impeller 17 is provided. For sucking in the dust-laden air by means of a suction mouthpiece (not shown) and a suction hose into the Vacuum cleaner through an inlet opening 18, the vacuum cleaner is equipped with two fans 19, which resiliently on a separating wall 20 in the housing that separates the motor chamber 14 and the blower chamber 15 10 are hung.
Der Servomotor besteht aus einem BalgOn one side of this partition 20 is a temperature sensor between the two electric motors 38 21 and on the other side a servomotor 22 is arranged. The servo motor consists of a bellows
23 aus Metall, Gummi oder Kunststoff. Der Innenraum des Balges ist mittels einer dünnen Rohrleitung23 made of metal, rubber or plastic. The interior of the bellows is by means of a thin pipe
B. Alkohol, gefüllt ist oder ein geeignetes Gas enthält.24 connected to the interior of the temperature sensor 21, v / elcher with a liquid with a high coefficient of thermal expansion, e.g. B. alcohol filled or contains a suitable gas.
The bellows 23 is attached to the partition 20 by means of a holder 25 which, as shown in FIG. 2 can be seen, consists of two parts that are bent at an angle and screwed together. The top of the The bellows is fixed in place on a projection of the holder 25, while the lower end of the bellows is attached a frame-shaped bracket 26 which is movable in the longitudinal direction of the holder is held. The expansion of the bellows 23 takes place against the action of a spring 27 between the lower end of the Holder 25 and the part of the bracket 26 is clamped on which the lower end of the bellows is supported is. The servomotor 22 cooperates with a valve device 29, namely in that the Bellows 23 over the bracket 26 and a rod 28 connected to the valve body, for example a valve cone 30 or a valve cap, moves. The valve cone 30 is counteracted by a spring 31 a valve seat 32 held, which is in the upper part of the vacuum cleaner housing 10 with a grille 33 Covered opening 34 is through which the dust filter chamber 11, the bag-shaped dust filter 35 receives, is connected to the outside air surrounding the vacuum cleaner.
When the vacuum cleaner is in use and the two motor fan units 19, 38 are working, will Dust-laden air through the vacuum cleaner mouthpiece, not shown, with suction hose to the inlet opening 18 sucked into the upper part of the vacuum cleaner housing. This air flows downward in and through the tissue or paper dust bag 35 and then, freed from dust, continuously through an opening 36 in a vertical separating the dust filter chamber 11 and the blower chamber 15 from one another Wall 37. In the blower chamber, the air is sucked in by the blowers 19 and flows through the motor chamber 15 and passes through an outlet opening 39 in the upper part of the motor chamber 14 into the fine filter chamber 13, from which it, distributed through a fine filter 40, flows out into the outside air.
When the air flows through the motor chamber 14, it cools the motors 38, and with normal flow resistance their operating temperature is kept at a permissible value. When the dust filter 35 gradually fills up with dust and thereby clogs the pores of the dust filter, the flow resistance of the air increases gradually, and the size of the air flow per unit of time decreases. This leads to a higher engine load and higher engine temperature. Through this increases the temperature of the temperature sensor 21, which both the radiant heat of the Motors 38 as well as the influence of the heated cooling air present in the motor chamber 14 is exposed. The amount of liquid or gas contained in the temperature sensor thus expands off, and the increase in volume is transmitted through the pipeline 24 to the bellows 23, which accordingly extends in the longitudinal direction such that the lower end of the bellows 23 counter to the action the spring 27 moves downwards and takes the bracket 26 with it, which in turn is displaceable in the holder 25 mounted rod 28 moved downwards. The valve cone 30 connected to the rod 28 is thereby with compression of the spring 31 lifted from the valve seat 32, so that outside air directly in the dust filter chamber 11 surrounding the dust filter bag 35 flows in and flows directly to the fans 19 bypassing the dust filter bag. This means that an increased amount of air flows through the motors 38 and cools them, so that the risk of overloading and overheating of the same is prevented.
The valve device 29 is expediently arranged so that it can be seen from the outside whether it is open or is closed. The valve device thus simultaneously serves as a warning device that indicates whether the dust filter bag is so full of dust that it has to be emptied or replaced.
