Description

Device for protecting an electric motor. With electric motors with There are various built-in and rotating starting resistors or starting windings attempts have been made to prevent excessive heating of the resistors or winding protect that special heat releases have been built in, which are caused by the starting heat heated air can be heated. (See patent, looo28.) These solutions have the practical very noticeable disadvantage that it is difficult to remove the heat from the rotating parts of the machine to the fixed relay. The heat gradient is included very large, and the triggers must be extremely sensitive. The one below characterized inventive concept avoids these difficulties. The engine is in a known manner with a rotating starting device or with a starting coil equipped. The starter and trigger are assembled with the engine. To now the low heat absorption capacity of the starting device or starting winding the work development is taken into account with the full or approximately full number of tours a flow of cooling air is supplied to the heat triggers by the runner, namely in the Way that a fan is attached to the runner in a known manner, which, as the picture shows, the airflow leads to the heat releases. The flow of cooling air thus continuously lowers the temperature of the release during normal operation, namely the effectiveness of the cooling is measured in this way. that about so to go percent of the normal current the trigger would respond when the cooling flow ceases. By this Eigrichtung can now be prevented relatively easily and effectively the starting resistor or winding will burn if the engine does not start can and still does not consume more power than normal power. This Case occurs z. B. with strong. Voltage drop. The machine can does not start, but remains under power. The working winding of the engine, which is dimensioned for the normal current, is not damaged here, probably but the starting winding, which cannot continuously absorb this current.

The illustration shows the arrangement as an example. i means herein the rotating starting device built into the electric motor, 2 the built-on one Fan, 3 the thermal release (s). The fan directs cooling air to the trigger to. As a result, the tripping current strength in normal operation is compared to the idle state and the short start-up state.

PATENT CLAIM: Device for protecting an electric motor with built-in starting device or winding and built-in heat release, characterized in that cooling air is continuously supplied to the heat release from the rotating rotor, in such a way that during the start-up time the heat release is sensitive due to the not yet reached full speed while it is reduced in its sensitivity by the strong air flow supplied at full operating speed.
