Description
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The previously proposed devices to by inhalation of oxygen Making it possible to stay in rooms filled with harmful gases show the disadvantage, that their weight is unfavorably distributed, hence the carrying effort and discomfort and that the liberation of the exhaled air from carbonic acid is not complete safely done. Next is a cleaning and repair of the device difficult while cleaning after the apparatus has been in operation for a period of time must necessarily be carried out.
These inconveniences are avoided in the present apparatus by the fact that the exhaled gases are not introduced directly into the oxygen supply to be inhaled but are first separated from the amount of oxygen to be inhaled, through a container in which the exhaled carbon dioxide is absorbed, be guided and only then be brought to inhalation again. Through the establishment separate line for the exhaled air and the amount of oxygen to be inhaled the absorption vessel is separated from the oxygen container and can be transferred to the body be arranged more advantageously than in the older devices, e.g. B. after Patent specification 88703, is possible. As a result of Separation of the. Absorption vessel from the oxygen tank can be used to clean the Apparatus can be made more easily than was previously possible. Further allows the Separation of the exhaled air from the inhaled oxygen the application of the Nasal breathing, as there is significantly less pressure to overcome. Apart from this, that nasal breathing is natural, it has the advantage of uncomfortable and to be able to foresee unsafe blocking of the nose by nose clips. The closure of the mouth is important easier and less inconvenient ways to allow.
The accompanying drawing shows a view of the device with partial section.
The gas-tight container α is divided into two parts b and c by the gas-tight partition d. A pipe f attached to the container leads into compartment b , and a pipe e into compartment c. The top of the tube f has an attachment h which can be closed by means of a valve g and connects the tube ^ "with the attachment i of the tube c . The piece i is closed off from the tube e by a pressure valve k . The attachment i closes Then the approach for the introduction into the respiratory organs, which is formed according to the drawing for / for nasal breathing.
The departments b and c of the gas container a are respectively through the tubes m. η is connected to the container 0 intended to absorb the carbonic acid of the exhaled air. This container consists of a tin drum, which is filled with soda lime or some other substance that absorbs the carbonic acid. The drum 0 can be shut off from the tubes m and η by the valves ρ and q.
Die Wirkungsweise des Apparates ist folgende: The mode of operation of the device is as follows:
Compartment b of the gas container is filled with oxygen through the opening r. When breathing is now carried out, the oxygen from b passes through the tube f, the attachment h and the valve g into the attachment i and the breathing device /. On exhalation, the air passes from Z through i and valve k into tube e and passes through it into compartment c. During further breathing, the exhaled air is then led through the tube ή and the valve q into the absorption container ο and passes from this through the valve ρ and the tube m into the compartment b, from where the inhalation again takes place through the tube f. When it emerges from the container ο the air is freed of carbonic acid and can be used again.
The fact that a complete circulation is provided for respiration is a very little pressure to be overcome both on inhalation and on exhalation, so that breathing is almost as easy as in the open air.
The closure of the mouth is effected by a plate s or the like, which can possibly be attached to the device.
The absorption container ο is easy to remove. Its contents do not come into contact with the container α , so that cleaning and refilling are extremely easy.
