Description
Card for cotton and synthetic fibers The invention relates on a card for cotton and synthetic fibers with a fixed, spaced from the drum attached cover covering the entire width and part of the Covered the circumference of the drum.
The known cards for cotton and rayon consist essentially from a lickerin that plucks small tufts of fiber from a cotton swab, one Tambour on which the fibers are knocked down by the lickerin, a number flatter, narrower, slowly moving over the drum fitting and also with one Flat rods (lids) provided with scratching fittings and a doffer that holds the fibers decreases from the drum. The flat bars move only a few for cleaning purposes Centimeters per minute. The surface speed of the main cylinder itself is about 670 m / min. as it moves past the flat bars.
During carding, the needles of the traveling flat rods collect the fibers from the drum and become overloaded and thereby approximately 60% ineffective during the working cycle. The amount of uncarded fiber that is collected from the flat bars is approximately 2 to 5% of the total amount of fiber that is fed to the card. This amount of fiber, which is referred to as the "plastering of the lid", is considered to be waste. In addition, the overloading of the flat bars forces the fibers on the drum fitting to be pressed into the fitting, which compresses the fibers and thus increases the amount of waste by approximately 1 %. A serious disadvantage with the known cards arises from this accumulation of the scraper fittings of the flat bars and of the drum, since this results in a non-uniform and uniform card sliver with a considerable number of knobs.
In the card of the type mentioned, the cover is known provided with the usual scratching fittings. Through the cover only the Dust formation is greatly reduced, which makes working conditions an essential Experience improvement.
The invention is based on the object of creating a card, which excludes the formation of waste caused by the cover plaster and the Tam.-bour plaster belittles. At the same time, this card should produce a uniform and uniform Card sliver can be produced with a few knobs.
The invention consists in that the cover consists of cover plates, which are provided with granular surfaces opposite the drum fitting. The cover plates on both sides of the main cylinder are advantageous Feather bow attached to maintain the distance between the two sides of the drum located arch parts are adjustable. To prevent dust formation the cover plates are provided with seals that form an airtight seal with the spring bows and with the adjacent cover plates. The top panels are in their surface and in their shape the cylinder surface of the drum fitting customized.
The cover plates have a continuous granular surface opposite the drum fitting. In addition, the cover plates can be the entire width and one Cover part of the circumference of the drum and in their shape the cylinder surface of the Tambours be adapted. The distance between the top panels and the surface the scraping of the drum is due to the special nature of the card to be carded Fibers determined.
With the card according to the invention, carding is simplified and the loss resulting from the formation of waste is significantly reduced. The card is less suitable for the production of fine cotton yarns of particular Quality, but synthetic fibers can be used for all yarn qualities good Success to be used. In particular, the card according to the invention is suitable for Processing of Indian or American cotton varieties with a staple length up to about 2.9 cm and for most synthetic fibers. In these cases it will be considerable advantages achieved: 1. The formation of waste is lower and the card sliver yield is: larger than cards with flat bars.
The card is much simpler in its construction and therefore cheaper to manufacture; it is much less prone to failure, it is simpler to maintain and operate.
The dust formation is greatly reduced and the working conditions thereby significantly improved.
When processing fiber blends, there is no preferred one Selection of certain fibers or fiber parts.
The card sliver produced on the card according to the invention is more uniform in its structural design than when manufactured on the conventional one Card, and 6. the claimed card is around 450 kg lighter.
The yarn qualities in terms of strength and evenness of the The yarn of the granulated card is roughly the same as that of the yarn of the usual flat card. This general statement is based on very extensive laboratory and attempts at spinning a greater number of cotton species among different ones Process conditions and the usual yarn samples, the yarn strength, uniformity and tear resistance were tested. In a spinning experiment, for. B. a yarn from a granulated card with a tenacity of 2262 (fineness-tenacity, measured on a skein composed of a number of yarn wraps around a wheel of about 110 m [120 yards] in length. The measurement is made with a standard tear strength testing machine performed. The measured value is multiplied by the count of fineness of the yarn) and a yarn breakage rate of 25 per 1000 spindles per hour is obtained while a. Yarn of a standard flat card, produced under comparable process conditions, had a tenacity number of 2318 and a thread breakage number of 28. With more Tests have shown that the number of thread breaks in the yarns of granulated cards was slightly higher than that of the yarn from the usual flat cards, but it passed only a smaller difference between the strength numbers.
The reel trim is made by replacing the scraper fittings of the the usual flat bars are not increased by the grained surfaces of the cover plates. On the contrary, it has been found that there is a reduction in the cylinder trim which can vary within wide limits and an average of about 10 to 15% of that of known flat cards. In a spinning experiment was z. B. the percentage of Tambourausputz in the card according to the invention at 0.45 im In contrast to 0.48 with the usual flat cards, and with tests on different ones For cotton varieties in other spinning mills, the corresponding results were 0.11 at 0.21 and 0.49 at 0.57.
However, it is of even greater importance in the case of the card according to the invention the complete exclusion of the waste formation known as cover plaster. After careful Estimates have been found to be a saving of at least 2.%, related on the winding weight, occurs.
At the beginning of the cleaning process, the number of nubs is that according to the invention Card under the same operating conditions below that of the usual flat card, but can increase somewhat after a certain operating time, but not over that of the usual card. The pimple number tests after 1, 2 and 3 hours Operation showed values of 12.0, 13.0 and 17.8 for the card with grained surfaces, while the corresponding results on the flat card are as follows: 19.2, 18.4 and 22.4. The corresponding tests carried out in another spinning mill delivered the following values: 7.6, 11.0 and 12.2 to 9.6, 12.2 and 13.6.
The invention is described in more detail below in the drawings described.
Gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung sind jedoch die bisherigen beweglichen Deckelstäbe und ihr dazugehöriger Mechanismus durch eine feste Abdeckung aus einer Anzahl ähnlicher Deckelplatten 8 und 32 ersetzt.1 shows a side view of a card in which the slowly rotating flat bars and their movement mechanism are replaced by fixed flat plates according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line 2-2 in Fig. 1 showing the interaction between the cover plates and the known parts of the card; Fig. 3 is an enlarged section of a portion of Fig. 2 showing the details of the apparatus for securing and adjusting the top panels; 4 is a partial plan view of the device and shows the manner of assembly of a suitable embodiment of the cover plates and their relative arrangement; Fig. 5 is a top plan view of a useful embodiment of a cover plate; Fig. 6 is a side elevation of the same plate; Fig. 7 is a section along line 7-7 of Fig. 4 showing the mated area and the arrangement of the cover plate relative to the drum; 8, 9 and 10 show modifications of the expedient embodiment of the cover plate, and FIG. 11 is the sectional view along the line 11-11 of FIG. 1 and shows a device known per se for adjusting the position of the spring arches. As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 5, the card has the normal card liner 1, the lickerin 2, the doffer 3, the arch parts 4 and 5 and the spring arches 6 and 7 in the usual manner. According to the present invention, however, the previous movable flat bars and their associated mechanism are replaced by a fixed cover made of a number of similar top plates 8 and 32.
The cover plates are made of metal and have a concave and granular (granulated) surface 9 (FIGS. 2 and 3) which is adapted to the curved surface of the needles 10 of the drum fitting 11. Ribs 12, 13, 14 and 15 (Fig. 5) are provided for reinforcement in order to give the plates the necessary stability.
The granulated surface of the panels can vary in roughness from coarse to fine, depending on the fibers to be carded, and can be produced either by milling or by sandblasting the metal or by applying a granulated or sanded canvas or paper to the metal. The cover plates are adjustably fastened to the spring bow with the aid of a number of brackets on the arms, which are used in the known cards to fasten and adjust the spring bow. For example, the arm 16 (FIGS. 1 and 4) of one of the arms for fastening the spring bow is provided with an additional arm 17 which serves as a clamp. Corresponding arms 18 and 19 (Fig. 4) are provided on the other side. The screws 20 and 21 in the arms act on the rib 15 and press the cover plate against the spring arches 6 and 7. The other side of the cover plate can be clamped by another device according to FIGS. This device consists of an arm 22 (Fig. 1), which is used in a known card and can be adjusted in the radial direction with the aid of a screw 100 and nuts 101 and 102 , and a hook part 23 which is rotatable on the arm 22 with Using a screw 24 is mounted. A rim 25 (Figs. 3 and 4) on part 23 engages a groove 26 (Fig. 5) on the protrusion of rib 13 of the top panel, and a corresponding rim 27 on part 28 which is similar to part 23 , is with the groove 29 at the other end of the rib 13 of the cover plate 8 in engagement. As can be seen from Fig. 5, each cover plate is provided with similar grooves at the ends of the protrusions of each of the longitudinal ribs which serve as a support element for the brackets. These are represented by the numbers 26, 29, 30 and 31 in FIG. To attach the next cover plate, e.g. B. the plate 32, a second bracket 33, similar to 23, is also rotatably mounted on a screw 24 and a corresponding bracket 34 on the same screw as bracket 28 (Fig. 2) (not shown).
However, any other suitable device for clipping the cover plates to the spring arches can readily be used. So z. B. for fastening the cover plates 32 in addition to the brackets 33 and 34 (Figure 4), which hold the cover plate at the corners near the cover plate 8 , the two remaining corners are held down by existing arms 35 and 36, on which additional rods 37 and 38 are attached. These rods are rotatably mounted on the arms by means of bolts 39 and 40 . Since the arms 35 and 36 are radially adjustable, the rods 37 and 38 are pressed against the corners of the cover plate, while the arms are pulled towards the center of the arc.
As with the known cards, the spring arcs are adjustable in their position. As shown in FIG. 11, this is made possible by the fact that a displaceable arm 39 is provided in the arm 16 and carries a pin 40. The pin is inserted into a hole 41 in the spring bow. Since the arm 39 can be adjusted in the radial direction with the aid of the screw 42 and the nuts 43 and 44 , the spring bow 6 can be brought into any desired position. From Fig. 1 it can be seen that adjustment options can be attached to the arms 35, 22 and 24 and at a fifth, not designated point on the right side of the spring bow. As with the known cards, similar adjusting devices for the spring bow 7 are provided on the other side thereof.
The distance between the cover plates according to the invention and the card fitting of the drum 1 can be adjusted with the aid of the device according to FIGS. 3, 5 and 6. At each corner there are milled holes 45, 46; 47 and 48 (Fig. 5) are provided in the projections of the ribs 13 and 15, which are provided with threads for receiving the screws 49, 50, 51 and 52. A bearing dowel 54 (FIG. 3) lies loosely in a recess in the bottom of the hole 48. Such a dowel is present in each of the holes 45, 46, 47 and 48 . The dowels rest in the milled top surface of the spring arches, and the distance between the cover plate and the card fitting can be changed by turning the adjusting screws 49, 50, 51 and 52 in either direction. Once the actual adjustment has been made, the plates can be held in place by tensioning screws 55, 56, 57 and 58 which hold the adjusting screws 49, 50, 51 and 52 so that they do not come loose by themselves. Through the combination of the adjustment devices, the adjustment screws and the above-described position adjustment mechanism of the spring arches, it is possible to achieve any desired adjustment of the cover plates, so that a very effective carding of many types of fibers is guaranteed.
The size and number of the cover plates are chosen so that they are essentially cover the same part of the circumference of the drum that was previously covered by the circumferential Cover rods of the usual cover cards is covered, and that they are tightly attached to the cover plates 103 and 104 (Fig. 1) connect so that the drum 1 is completely completed is.
Another advantage that the present invention has over the Use of the old revolving flat bars is that you close the card essentially airtight and thereby to a special degree can reduce the formation of dust on the carding machine during carding. This is because of this causes a groove 59 (Fig. 5) to be provided on the edges of the top panels and inserts a closure gasket 60 extending slightly over all four sides of the panel extends. This sealing gasket can be made of rubber or any other suitable one plastic fabric. The seals are at each end of the plate to the spring arches 6 and 7, as can be seen in Figs. 2 and 3, while those touch the seals of the adjacent panels on the sides. In this way the interior of the card is essentially airtight.
The expedient embodiment of the cover plates can also experience several modifications. One such modification (Fig. 8) is a number of contiguous plates 61, 62 and 63 with a number of discontinuous granulated surfaces 64, 65 and 66 separated by smooth surfaces 67 and 68 and cavities 69 and 70 . The closure seals at the ends (not shown) lie on the spring arches according to the expedient embodiment of FIGS. 5 and 6, while the adjacent plates are made airtight by seals 71, 72, 73 and 74. The voids or grooves prevent air flow and cause the fibers to make repeated contact with the top panels.
Another embodiment is shown in FIG. The top panels are in relatively narrow spaced apart, and their granular Surfaces 75, 76, 77 and 78 form at their Ber points of contact with the reel fitting, as they are due to the narrow width of these panels the surfaces of the same are not adapted to the surface of the Tam bour fitting need to be. According to the form described above, the plates are at their ends (not shown) and on their mutual contact edges with sealing gaskets Mistake. The grooves of the closure seals are shown in Fig. 9 with 79, 80, 81, 82, 83 and 84.
The third embodiment according to FIG. 10 also serves the purpose that Contact between the fibers and the cover plates in those cases where there is the Type of fiber requires improvement. The grainy surface is not continuous, but divided into numerous interrupted areas 85, 86, 87 and 88 that run through the air holes 89, 90 and 91 are separated from each other. A cover plate92 bridged both the ribs 93 and 94 and the ribs at the ends of the plate (not shown), whereby a closed space 95 is formed over the breakthroughs, which is to serves to interrupt the flow of air and thus the contact between the fibers and increases the grainy surfaces. In this embodiment, the panels are both with end seals (not shown) as well as with seals 96, 97, 98 and 99 to seal the gaps between the adjacent panels.
The advantages of the plates instead of the rotating flat bars offer are numerous. If the granulated area is made specifically for the type of building to be caxed If fiber material is selected, it does not accumulate the fibers and is also taken care of by them not overloaded. This gives a 100% work surface to work on the To pluck and align the fibers located on the drum at any time. The carding process this large work surface is so complete that there are no unthreaded tufts of fibers there that have to be removed, as is the case with the flat bars with the known ones Carding can be the case. The "cleaning of the lid" is therefore completely excluded, whereby a saving of 2 to 5% in fiber material is achieved. Furthermore will the fibers transported on the tambour of the card are not pressed into the needle facing, as is the case when using the known flat bars. The consequence of this is that the amount of "cylinder cleaning" can be reduced by up to 50%, whereby a valuable additional saving in fiber material is achieved.
In addition to this saving, there is the fact that the top panels always offer a large work surface and are never cluttered resulting in fewer knots (knots) in a card sliver.
The invention also reduces a health hazard. The carding room in the spinning mill was always regarded as the place where the air through fibers and dust is contaminated. By using the inventive, airtight Cover plates mounted above the drum remove the dust and fibers that normally pass through the flat bars, switched off.
