Die Wurzelspitzen von gewissen Pflanzen, die sich in der Nähe von unterirdisch verlegten Wasserleitungen befinden, streben bekanntlich mit verwunderlicher Zielsicherheit und Beharrlichkeit dorthin, wo sie Wasser wittern, und überwinden hierbei mit erstaunlicher Kraft Hindernisse aller Art. Selbst durch wasserdichte Muffenverbindungen schaffen sie sich Zugang zum Wasser.
