Der Umstand, daß sich zwischen dem Nicotin und der Zusatzsubstanz keine Verbindung oder zum mindesten keine definierbare beständige Verbindung bildet, hat den Vorteil, daß die Wirksamkeit des freien Nicotins voll erhalten bleibt. Die geringe Flüchtigkeit des so hergestellten Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittels gegenüber dem freien Nicotin ergibt sich aus den folgenden Versuchen: Analytisch gewogene Mengen von Nicotin puriss. iooo'oig wurden mit ungefähr gleichen Teilen Triacetin, Glycerin und Salicy1säureäthylester gemischt und die Mischungen in weiten Wägegläsern 53 Tage lang an der Luft stehengelassen; unter den gleichen Bedingungen wurde auch eine analoge Menge von Nicotin puriss. behandelt.
