Nach dem Verfahren des Haupt-Patentes 97438 wird das Filtermaterial eines Filters durch Rückspülung mit Wasser gereinigt. Es ist aber zweckmäfsig, aufser der Anwendung von Wasser noch andere Hülfsmittel zum energischen Aufwühlen des Filtermaterials und somit zur schnelleren und sicheren Beseitigung des Schlammes zu gebrauchen und ist Luft zu diesem Zwecke ein sehr geeignetes Mittel. Die Reinigung durch ein Gemisch von Wasser und Luft ist durch das D. R. P. 75628 geschützt. Bei dem Apparat, welcher bei diesem Patent zur Ausführung des geschützten Verfahrens dient, ist aber ein besonderer Apparat zum Comprimiren der Luft, die unter das Filtermaterial geleitet wird, erforderlich.According to the method of the main patent 97438, the filter material of a filter is backwashed cleaned with water. Wie aus den Figuren ersichtlich , ist im Filterbehälter ein bis unter das Filtermaterial sich erstreckendes Luftrohr w angeordnet, durch welches die Luft infolge der Wirkung des Hebers s angesaugt und vermittelst des damit verbundenen gelochten Rohres χ oder einer sonstigen geeigneten Vorrichtung unter das Filtermaterial vertheilt wird. Die Luft geht dann durch das Filter f und sammelt sich über demselben unter dem luftdicht verschlossenen Boden t an. Erreicht nun diese Luft die Unterkante des Rohres Z, so bewirkt sie durch das Eintreten in dieses Rohr das Abreifsen des Hebers. Gleichzeitig wird auch durch das Rohr / bereits gereinigtes, oben angesammeltes Waschwasser angesaugt und durch das Filtermaterial mit hindurchgesaugt. Der Querschnitt dieses Rohres / ist so bemessen, dafs Wasser und Luft ungefähr im gleichen Verhältnifs angesaugt werden.
