Kunststoffpulvergemisch zum Wirbelsintern Unter Wirbelsintern versteht man ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schutzüberzügen aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen durch Eintauchen der über den Schmelzpunkt des Kunststoffes erwärmten Gegenstände in aufgewirbeltes Kunststoffpulver. Diese besondere Struktur beseitigt die Nachteile, die das im Endzustand harte und spröde Epoxyharz sonst besitzt, so daß nun auch dünne Überzugsschichten aus diesem Material haltbar aufgetragen werden können. So zeigen Versuche bezüglich der Biegefestigkeit, daß etwa 1 mm starke, auf Aluminiumblech mit dem bekannten Wirbelsinterverfahren als Überzug aufgetragene Schichten von Epoxyharz allein schon beim leichten Biegen des Bleches abspringt, während Überzüge aus einer Kunststoffpulvermischung von etwa 60 Gewichtsteilen Epoxyharz und 40 Teile Polyäthylen selbst Biegungen um einen Zylinder von etwa 150 mm Durchmesser vertragen.
