Process turn dyeing of structures made of wool, linear polyamides and polyurethanes It has been found that genuine dyeings on structures such as fibers, flakes, threads, woven and knitted fabrics made of wool, linear polyamides and polyurethanes are obtained if cobalt or chromium complex compounds of sulfonic acid are used .re- and carboxyl-free monoazo dyes of the formula wherein R is an aromatic radical which contains a substituent capable of forming metal complexes in the o-position to the azo group, at least one X is an etherified or esterified hydroxyl group and Y is a hydrogen or halogen atom, a nitro group, an alkyl or acyl radical, neutral or weak leave an acidic bath to act on the material to be dyed.
Dyes which can be used for the new process are obtained according to the procedure of patent specification 842 379 by adding dianotated amines which carry a substituent capable of forming metal complexes in the o-position to the amino group and further substituents in the aromatic nucleus, such as halogen atoms, alkyl radicals, nitro or acylamino groups, alkylsulphone, aralkylsulphone or arylsulphone or. -ketone groups, sulfonic acid amide or carboxylic acid amide groups, with azo components of the formula couples in which one X 'is a hydroxyl group, the other X' is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group and Y is the above. has given meaning, treated the dyes obtained with cobalt or chromium donating agents and then etherified or esterified the hydroxyl groups not involved in the complex formation. Aliphatic or aromatic sulfonic acid halides can serve for the esterification, in particular methanesulfonic acid chloride, benzene sulfonic acid chloride or toluene sulfonic acid chloride. For etherification, preference is given to using alkyl halides or sulfates and alkyl esters of aryl sulfonic acids, such as ethyl bromide, benzyl chloride, dimethyl sulfate or methyl toluenesulfonate.

sehr guten Echtheitseigenschaften. The new process delivers very even colorations with good to
very good fastness properties.

Ammoniumsulfat färbt man
Orangefärbung mit sehr guten Echtheitseigenschaften.EXAMPLE 1 In a dyebath which, in 4000 parts of water, contains 2 parts of 25% aqueous ammonia solution, 2 parts of the condensation product of 1 mole of sperm oil alcohol and 30 moles of ethylene oxide and 1.2 parts of the cobalt complex compound of the dye contains in finely divided form, 100 parts of a polyamide fabric are introduced at 50 ° C. and the mixture is heated to boiling temperature over the course of 30 minutes. After adding 2 parts of ammonium sulfate, dyeing is continued for a further 45 minutes at boiling temperature. A red-embroidered orange dyeing of excellent lightfastness and very good wetfastness is obtained. In the same way, real dyeings can be obtained on linear polyamides or wool with the following dyes:
Example 2 100 parts of piece of wool are in a bath containing 1.5 parts of the cobalt complex compound of the dye 1 part of the sulfonated condensation product of 1 mole of sperm oil alcohol and 80 moles of ethylene oxide, 3 parts of ammonium sulfate and 3 parts of 30% acetic acid in 4000 parts of water at 50 ° C, heated within 20 minutes to 98 ' C and then for 1 hour at colored at this temperature. A uniform, brownish orange dyeing with very good fastness properties is obtained.
