Description
Process for the production of crystalline zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate The invention relates to the production of crystalline zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate.
Process for the production of zinc dithiocarbamates in a homogeneous system in a work stage are known.
Bis-dithiocarbamates produced by this process fall in the Usually as colloid amorphous precipitates, which are not very persistent and therefore for use in agriculture as a control agent against various Fungal diseases of plants are not particularly suitable.
In contrast to this, according to the invention, something that is slightly water-soluble is obtained crystalline zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate, which is very storable and on plants applied has proven to be extremely resistant and durable. In it lies the progress made by the claimed operation; because the Use of the zinc salt in question is in the field of phytotherapy.
The zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate must be used for this special purpose be very pure and practically free from amorphous components; because of economical reasons the manufacturing process must lead to high yields.
Tinlt-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate is obtained in crystalline form, if 'an aqueous solution of atmo-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate in the presence of NH4 ions react with an aqueous suspension of zinc oxide or hydroxide is brought.
Compared to the known working methods, one achieves according to the invention the introduction of NH4 ions slows down the reaction rate and thus favors the precipitation of a crystalline zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamates.
The size of the crystals is uniform (^ - 1 [,) and it is unnecessary to grind the product before using it. Example 1 In a 250 cc Glass flasks contain 9.11 g of Zn 0 (zinc white, 93.6% commercial product) and 30 cm3 of water added and the slurry shaken for 10 minutes. At room temperature and with constant stirring, 50 cm3 of a 55 volume percent ammonium-ethylene-bisdithiocarbamate solution are added added and stirred for a further 30 minutes. The system is slightly exothermic, towards the end of the reaction, the temperature rises from room temperature (21 ° C.) to 29 ° C. The stirring is now interrupted and the product is washed twice with water washed and decanted. It is then filtered and dried at 50.degree. In this way, 31.4 g of a white or ivory-colored product are obtained with a zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarl> amate content of 89.25% and a yield of 91 ° l0.
Die Reaktion ist etwas exothermer als in e den vorangehenden Beispielen, und schon bei Reaktionsbeginn steigt die Temperatur von Zimmertemperatur (21° C) auf 32° C.Example 2 9.11 g of Zn 0 (zinc white, 93.6% commercial product), 0.1 g of sodium lignosulfonic acid and 30 cm3 of water are introduced into a 250 ctn "glass flask and the slurry is shaken for 10 minutes. The mixture is stirred continuously at room temperature 50 cm3 55.11 percent by volume ammonium ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate was added and stirring continued for a further 30 minutes. The reaction is slightly exothermic, towards the end of the reaction the temperature rises from room temperature (21 ° C) to 29 ° C. The stirring is stopped and the product is treated as in the previous example. 31.8 g of 89.82% dry zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate are obtained with a 92.73% yield , 8 g of Zn 0 (zinc white, 93.6% merchandise), 0.1 g of sodium lignosulfonate and 30 cm-3 of water are added and shaken for 10 minutes rden 50 cm3 ammonium ethylene-bis-ditihocarbamat in 49,8o / cent solution and 5 cm3 aqueous 25o / oiges ammonia is added and stirred for 30 minutes durchg 7. The reaction is somewhat more exothermic than in the previous examples, and the temperature rises from room temperature (21 ° C) to 32 ° C as soon as the reaction begins.
When the stirring is complete, the product is treated as in the previous examples. 29.5 g of dry zinc-ethylene-bis-thiocarbamate are obtained with a 90.6% yield of pure product. Example 4 In a 500 cm-3 ornamental neck flask with a mechanical stirrer. The reflux condenser, thermometer and separating funnel are added 43.17 g of Zn O (zinc white, 93.6% commercial product) and 250 cm3 of water containing 0.3 g of sodium lignosulfonic acid are added. This slurry is stirred for 15 minutes. Then 82 g of carbon disulfide are quickly introduced through the neck of the flask and the separating funnel is attached. It is stirred for a few minutes and then a mixture consisting of 39 g of ethylenediamine and 68 g of aqueous ammonia (2% by weight) is added dropwise through the separating funnel over the course of an hour, with continuous stirring. The temperature that tends to rise. is kept at 30 to 35 ° C by a water bath. After the addition of the two bases has ended, the reaction is allowed to continue for a further 3 hours. The product (Äthylenbis-dithiocarbamic acid zinc), which still contains the excess of the unused carbon disulfide. is washed twice with water, decanted, filtered and dried at 50 ° C.
DieLösung ergab in derAnalyse einenTiter=48,So/o.To the influence of the in the aqueous ammonium-ethylene-his-dithiocarbamate-solution NH, t ions present on the properties of the zinc ether-bis-dithiocarbamate obtained To make it stand out more clearly, 5 liters of ammonium-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate solution were used produced by the reaction of carbon disulfide with ammonia and ethylenediamine. The analysis gave a titer = 48, So / o.
Nitrogen (250 g / h) was slowly passed into this solution, to remove some of the N H4 ions present. From this solution were in Samples are taken at suitable intervals, which therefore have a different content of N H4 ions. The samples were taken as follows: a) Sample the original ammonium ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate solution, b) sample of the above Solution after washing with nitrogen for 30 minutes, c) the same after 1 hour Washing out with nitrogen, d) the same after washing out with nitrogen for 11/2 hours, e) the same after washing with nitrogen for 2 hours.
The samples of these ammonium-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate solutions were treated under the same conditions with the stoichiometric amount of zinc oxide and the reaction time until the zinc compound is formed is noted.
It was found that the presence of: N, H4 ions die The reaction slows down and the precipitation of a crystalline zinc-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate is slowed down favored.
In case a) the reaction takes 30 to 35 minutes, in case b) 20 up to 25 minutes, in case c) 15 minutes and in case d) and e) 10 to 15 minutes. The product obtained from solutions a) and b) is extremely crystalline, in in the other cases it has a substantial proportion of amorphous product.
