Abstract
The internal combustion reciprocating piston engine suitable for heavy oil running has a common fuel rail supplying fuel under pressure to injection valves. A heating element (3) is installed in the fuel rail (1) and centrally located. The heating element may be hot steam operated or may be electrically operated. The common fuel rail is encased in a way in which an air gap is formed around it.
