Description

피스톤 내연기관{PISTON INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE}Piston Internal Combustion Engine {PISTON INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE}

The present invention relates to a piston internal combustion engine having a common rail for supplying high pressure fuel to an injection valve and suitable for heavy oil operation.

An object of the present invention is to increase the availability of the piston internal combustion engine by a simple space-saving means.

This problem is achieved by mounting a heating element in the common rail. In the application of the invention the injection valve can be provided with a fuel which always has the required temperature and hence the required viscosity. The internal combustion engine can be started without problems even after the stop phase. It is advantageous to maintain the required fuel viscosity during operation.

Preferably, the heating element is arranged in the center of the common rail. For this reason, the heat supplied is optimally utilized.

Preferably, the common rail is surrounded with a gap. Due to this, heat loss can be minimized.

Further features and advantages are disclosed in the description of the embodiments with reference to the dependent claims and the figures. This figure cuts and shows a part of common rail.

The tubular common rail 1 is shown in the figure. The heating element 3 is inserted into the inner space 2 containing the high pressure fuel. The heating element is formed of a tube to which hot steam is supplied in the illustrated embodiment. One closed part 4 is disposed at each end of the common rail 1. The closure part 4 closes the interior space 2 by pressure sealing. Only one closure part 4 is shown in the figure. Each closed part 4 has a hole 5 to which is connected a pipeline (not shown) for maintaining the circulation of hot steam. The heating element 3 and the hole 5 are embodied in a pressure seal with respect to the internal space 2. The common rail 1 is connected to one injection valve 8 each via a hole in the connecting part 6 and one connecting pipeline 7 each in a known manner. A gap is provided around the common rail 1 between the two connecting parts 6 or one connecting part 6 and the closing part 4, in which one jacket pipe part 9 is mounted, respectively.

An electric heating element may also be used instead of a heating element through which hot steam flows.

By means of the above-described heating element, the fuel in the common rail 1 is uniformly preheated when the mounting space is small, thereby ensuring reliable engine starting and engine operation by heavy oil. In addition, since the time taken for the cold internal combustion engine to become a reliably operated internal combustion engine is shortened, the time taken for the use of the piston internal combustion engine is shortened.

According to the invention, the injection valve can always be provided with a fuel having the required temperature and hence the required viscosity, and the internal combustion engine can be started without any problems even after the stop phase.
