Process for bright annealing of iron, steel, metals and metal alloys
To avoid oxidation when bright annealing iron, steel, metals and metal alloys
to prevent the surface of the material, d. H. a bright glow of the annealing material
To achieve this, it is known to place the material in a protective hood during the annealing process
or to include an annealing pot which is sealed gas-tight to the outside
is. Nowadays, electric ovens are mostly used for heating, either stationary ones
or movable oven. In the case of a stationary furnace, the material to be annealed is from below or from above
together with the sealed protective hood inserted into the glow chamber, while movable
Annealing furnaces are placed over the protective hood containing the annealing material.
To reduce the oxidation of the material to be annealed during the annealing in the hood
avoid, an oxygen-free atmosphere is created in this. this happens
according to a known method in that during heating and cooling
of the goods in the hood a vacuum is maintained, and after another
known method in that a protective gas, for example pre-burned, through the hood
Gas, or cracked ammonia gas, is pumped, which is constantly in circulation
heated protective gas at the same time for even and rapid heating of the annealing material
contributes. Annealing under vacuum has the advantage that all residues evaporate
on the annealing material, e.g. B. drawing agent residues on drawn wire, vacuumed and so
very bright surfaces can be achieved. The disadvantage of the process is that by
the vacuum the heating of the annealing material and its cooling proportionally
takes a long time and it is difficult to obtain an even temperature distribution
to be reached in the annealing material. The annealing process using protective gas has these disadvantages
not. The heating takes place relatively quickly and it becomes even
Temperature reached in the annealing material. The disadvantage, however, is that residues can be evaporated
not sucked off on the annealing material, but together with it during the entire process
the protective gas through the hood. This means that the surfaces are not so bare
achievable as when glowing in a vacuum.
die nachfolgende Abkühlung mit Hilfe von umlaufendem Schutzgas durchgeführt wird;
To combine the advantages of both methods and at the same time
To avoid their disadvantages, according to the invention, the annealing and cooling of the annealing material
carried out in such a way that it is first heated under vacuum in the protective hood
up to a temperature at which all vaporizable residues are on
the annealing material with certainty evaporated and by the maintenance of the vacuum
serving pump are sucked off, whereupon the further heating to annealing temperature and
the subsequent cooling is carried out with the aid of circulating protective gas;
d. In other words, a vacuum is first maintained in the protective hood and then subsequently
through this a protective gas is circulated. The heating of the annealing material on a
A sufficient temperature for the evaporation of the residues is also possible if the temperature is maintained
a vacuum relatively quickly, since the temperature required for this is considerable
is less than the annealing temperature. For this evaporation is also not a uniform one
Temperature of the material to be annealed is required, it is sufficient that the temperature is at the coldest
Place within the annealing material is above the evaporation temperature. By
the subsequent introduction of the protective gas into the protective hood is then rapid
and uniform heating of the material to be annealed to the annealing temperature and subsequently also
rapid cooling is achieved in which the protective gas is used in a manner known per se
is cooled during its circulation. The method according to the invention connects
so the advantages of the two known methods together and avoids at the same time
their disadvantages.
