Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a window / door handle, with a square pin for rotationally secure connection of the window / door handle with a locking mechanism according to the preamble of claim 1.

It is known to provide for the closing and opening operation of windows and doors rotatable handles. A rotary operation of such a window / door handle is usually transmitted by means of a square pin on the locking mechanism of the window or the door. The length of the square pin is dimensioned so that a reliable transmission of the rotational movement is ensured.

As problematic it can turn out, if the window / door handle to be replaced, for example, to increase the burglary security to replace an existing handle with a replacement handle with an additional locking mechanism. In the event that the previous window / door handle is firmly connected to the square pin, namely, a separate square pin must be provided for the replacement handle. However, the free length by which a square pin protrudes from a window / door handle, in order to be able to reliably engage in the associated locking mechanism, not set by default. For this purpose, it is possible, for example, to provide a maximum length required for the free length of the square pin of the exchange handle. To avoid the need to use tools at the mounting location of the exchange handle, it is also possible to provide the replacement handle with different square pins of different lengths, so that the installer can select that square pin, which has the appropriate free length for the installation depth of the relevant locking mechanism ,

Alternatively, it is also conceivable to store the square pin longitudinally movable within the new window / door handle, so that the square pin can be moved along its longitudinal axis to set the free length or the depth of penetration in the existing locking mechanism variable. However, such displaceability involves the risk that when already mounted window / door handle the square pin further unintentionally moves along its longitudinal axis and thus gets out of engagement with the locking mechanism of the window or door in extreme cases.

A similar problem can arise for universal handles, which - should be suitable as initial equipment for various windows or doors - for example, with additional locking mechanisms to increase security against burglary. Again, it should be ensured that for different installation depths of the shooting mechanism of the square pin is always in secure connection with the locking mechanism.

The documents FR 1 271 220 A . FR 919 976 A and FR 361 859 A each show a window / door handle according to the preamble of claim 1.

The object of the invention is to provide a window / door handle, which allows for a reliable rotationally secure connection of the handle with a locking mechanism to adapt to different depths of the locking mechanism, without multiple square pins of different lengths must be available and without the use required by special tools at the installation site.

This object is achieved by a window / door handle with the features of claim 1.

Accordingly, a holding device is permanently attached to the window / door handle to which the square pin can be releasably secured in a selectable axial position. This holding device is able to secure the square pin within the final mounted handle against unwanted axial migration, and secures the square pin at least during assembly of the handle against falling out. As a result, the holding device facilitates the assembly of the handle, since after detection of the square pin by the holding device of the square pin and the window / door handle form a common structural unit, which does not accidentally dissolve again during the subsequent required handling.

Such a holding device may in particular be fastened within a recess which is provided on the window / door handle for receiving the square pin. The square pin is provided with a plurality of mounting portions which are spaced from each other with respect to the longitudinal axis of the square pin. The said holding device engages with at least one of the fastening portions of the square pin a latching. For this purpose, the holding device may have one or more spring arms which engage in a respective recess on the square pin.

In addition to this, at least one further securing element can cooperate with the fastening sections of the square pin in order to fix an axial position of the securing element and thereby to determine the penetration depth of the square pin into the window / door handle. The fuse element blocks, for example, the square pin against unintentional further penetration of the window / door handle. By selectively cooperating with one of the plurality of mounting portions of the square pin, the user can predetermine the free length by which the square pin engages an associated locking mechanism from the respective window / door handle.

The square pin system of square pin with mounting sections on the one hand and here cooperating fuse element on the other hand has the advantage that to replace a previously existing window / door handle, a new handle to the depth of the existing locking mechanism can be adjusted without several square pins of different lengths are available have to. Instead, the securing element is attached to the square pin so that the resulting free length of the square pin ensures a reliable engagement in the locking mechanism. The securing element also prevents further use of the exchange handle unintentional wandering of the square pin along its longitudinal axis. A special tool is not required here.

In order to bring about a particularly reliable axial fixation of the square pin relative to the window / door handle, it is also possible to provide a plurality of securing elements which interact with different ones of the several fastening sections of the square pin.

Also, for a universal window / door handle, which should be suitable as an original equipment for different windows or doors with different depth of the locking mechanism, the invention allows the required adaptability of the free length of the square pin.

If reference is made in the context of the invention to a window / door handle, this is a window handle, a door handle or a combination of window and door handle to understand.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the fastening portions of the square pin each have at least one recess with which the securing element is able to cooperate in order to fulfill the described fixing function.

The securing element is preferably provided with at least one engagement portion which allows engagement in such recess or in any other attachment portion of the square pin.

In particular, each attachment portion may have at least one transverse groove into which the securing element can engage. As a transverse groove is to be understood a groove which extends transversely, in particular perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the square pin. Preferably, two mutually opposite transverse grooves are provided for each attachment portion, so that a particularly reliable fit of the securing element is ensured. It is also possible to provide for each mounting portion a single circumferential groove, so an annular groove of a square or round course.

Alternatively, each attachment portion of the square pin may have a continuous engagement bore or engagement bore of limited depth that is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the square pin. In such an engagement bore, the securing element or an engagement portion thereof engage to fix the securing element with respect to the longitudinal axis of the square pin.

According to a preferred embodiment, a further securing element is placed laterally on the square pin. For this purpose, the securing element may be disc-shaped or cuff-shaped, with a peripheral recess, which is able to embrace the square pin on a mounting portion. The outline of the securing element may in particular be U-shaped, wherein the two legs of the U-shape engage around the square pin on a fastening section in order to allow a blocking of the square pin with respect to an undesired axial movement.

Alternatively, the further securing element may be formed, for example, as a flexible disc with a central opening into which the square pin is inserted, so that the disc surrounds the square pin like a ring. Due to the flexible design of the disc, latching engagement with any of a plurality of mounting portions of the square pin can be achieved to block the square pin against undesirable axial movement.

Alternatively, the further securing element may have at least one engagement pin, which projects into an engagement bore on a lateral placement of the securing element on the square pin. The securing element may also have a T- or E-shaped outline, wherein the center bar of the T-shape or the Middle leg of the E-shape can engage in a selected engagement hole of the square pin.

Another possibility for fastening a further securing element to the square pin is that the fastening portions each have a threaded portion on the longitudinal edges of the square pin. The threaded portions together form a thread which extends along the longitudinal axis of the square pin. The securing element may in this case be formed as a threaded nut, which is screwed to the thread in a continuously selectable axial position. In this embodiment, it is advantageous if the window / door handle has a base element with a recess for the positive reception of the threaded nut. For example, a hex nut may be provided, wherein the recess of the base complementary thereto is hexagonal.

The window / door handle shown serves in a manner known per se for the rotational actuation of a closing mechanism of a window or a door (not shown in the figures). This is the base plate 29 firmly mounted on the window or the door, for example screwed.
