Abstract

The invention relates to a mounting arrangement for fastening a license plate to a front grille of a vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.

In common practice, license plates are screwed to the front grille of a vehicle with a pad (i.e. a license plate holder) in between.

From the DE 10 2017 006 712 A1 a generic mounting arrangement for attaching such a license plate is known. The mounting arrangement has a license plate carrier, the dimensions of which can be adapted to different country variants of the license plate. For this purpose, the license plate carrier is composed of individual modules, which are complex in terms of components and which can be coupled or decoupled with one another via a geometrically complex connection technology.

The object of the invention is to provide a mounting arrangement for fastening a license plate, by means of which a simpler country-specific adaptation of the license plate carrier to the license plate is made possible in comparison with the prior art.

The object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Preferred developments of the invention are disclosed in the subclaims.

According to the characterizing part of claim 1, the plate-shaped license plate carrier has a base body which, in a basic state, is elongated in the vehicle transverse direction and / or in the vehicle vertical direction using the same material and / or in one piece at a predetermined breaking point with at least one fracture segment. For a country-specific adaptation of the dimensions of the label carrier, the fracture segment at the predetermined breaking point can be removed from the base body of the label carrier simply by kinking.

It is preferred if, in the assembled state, the license plate protrudes beyond the license plate carrier in the transverse direction of the vehicle and / or in the vertical direction of the vehicle. Instead, according to the invention, the license plate carrier is mounted directly on the relief-like lattice structure of the front grille. With such a direct mounting on the relief-like lattice structure, however, the license plate (together with the license plate carrier) can be drawn into a grid cavity with deformation during the screwing process. This leads to a bulging of the license plate towards the outside of the vehicle, so that the license plate may not be able to be mounted in a way that is fixed to the car wash.

In order to avoid such a license plate deformation, the mounting arrangement can be implemented according to the invention as follows: In a mounting surface of the license plate facing the front grille, the relief-like front grille grid structure can be at least partially reproduced in a negative form. In this way, in the assembled state, the license plate carrier can be contour-matched in pressure system with the front grille. In particular, the license plate carrier can be brought into contact with a contact surface of the front grille screw-on base for a perfect screwing process in order to avoid license plate deformation during the screwing-in process.

In a technical implementation, the license plate carrier can have a negative grille profile on its mounting surface facing the front grille.
