Description
The invention relates to a special protective glazing for a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a motor vehicle.
To protect motor vehicles and their occupants from attacks, especially with firearms, they can be armored. Such armor usually also includes special protective glazing. In this case, special protective glazing with a layered structure of at least two glass elements are known. Such special protective glazing is also referred to as laminated safety glass. By using multiple layers of glass elements, special protective glazing is easier and less expensive to produce than a single pane of glass with equivalent armor properties. In addition, special protective glazing with several layers can be particularly light. Between the individual glass elements, respective foils can be arranged in order, for example, to prevent a bursting of glass splinters into an interior of the motor vehicle when a projectile strikes the special protective glazing.
The special protective glazing of a motor vehicle can be a weak point in the armor. By a limited space, for example in a door shaft of the motor vehicle, the maximum thickness of the special protective glazing can be limited. In addition, glass as a material has a particularly high weight and thus can also limit the thickness of the special protective glazing. The thickness of the special protective glazing is proportional to their resistance to attack, especially a bombardment.
Accordingly, it is an object of the invention to provide a special protective glazing for a motor vehicle, which is particularly bulletproof. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide a motor vehicle, which is particularly well armored.
These objects are achieved by a special protective glazing with the features of claim 1 and with the motor vehicle described below. Advantageous embodiments with expedient developments of the invention are specified in the respective subclaims, wherein advantageous embodiments of the special protective glazing are to be regarded as advantageous embodiments of the motor vehicle and vice versa.
A first aspect of the invention relates to a special protective glazing for a motor vehicle with a layered structure of at least two glass elements. According to the invention, at least one first glass element extends further in an edge area of the special protective glazing than at least one second glass element, wherein at least one ballistic element is arranged in a recess formed thereby in the special protective glazing. The ballistic element can better resist an attack, in particular a bombardment, than a glass element. Thus, the special protective glazing is particularly bulletproof and has particularly good armor properties.
It has been shown that the special protective glazing in the edge area is exposed to the highest loads due to bombardment. The special protective glazing must be able to support the forces acting on it by the bombardment on a body of the motor vehicle in its edge region. Usually, a substantially horizontal bombardment of the motor vehicle and thus the special protective glazing in an attack is to be expected. The greater the angle of the bombardment to the special protective glazing, the greater the forces acting on it. This means that the special protective glazing is exposed to the highest load at a bombardment angle of 90 degrees. Due to a disc curvature, the special protective glazing can have an angle with respect to the bombardment, which is particularly close or equal to 90 °, precisely in its edge region. Thus, the special protective glazing is subjected to the highest load here. For this reason, the arrangement of the ballistic element in the edge region is particularly useful.
The ballistic element therefore replaces at least one of the glass elements in a partial area of the special protective glazing in a layered construction. The ballistic element can be designed as an extension of the second glass element. The ballistic element can be arranged substantially parallel to a main extension direction of the first glass element. In addition, the ballistic element can consist of an opaque material, since in the edge region of the special protective glazing it limits the view through the special protective glazing only particularly slightly or not at all.
The special protective glazing can be used in all windows of a motor vehicle. It is suitable for both front and rear windows. The special protective glazing is also suitable for respective side windows, which can be opened at least partially by a method of special protective glazing.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the ballistic element comprises a steel material, a ceramic material, a plastic material, in particular Kevlar, and / or a fiber composite material. A steel material is particularly resistant to bombardment. A ceramic material is also particularly resistant to bombardment and can also be particularly light. A plastic material can be particularly cost-effective and shatter particularly little during bombardment, so that respective occupants of the motor vehicle can not be endangered by splintering parts. In particular, Kevlar is a material that is particularly resistant to bombardment and can particularly well prevent penetration of a bullet through the special protective glazing even with multiple hits to the same place. A fiber composite material can also be particularly bulletproof, particularly resistant to fragmentation and also very light. The fiber composite material may for example comprise a ceramic or a plastic as a carrier material. All these materials have in common that they can have a lower thickness and / or a lower weight compared to a glass element with the same safety bullets. With the same thickness and / or the same weight, the ballistic element has a greater shooting safety than a corresponding glass element.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the second glass element between the first glass element and a third glass element, which also extends further into the edge region of the special protection glazing than the second glass element, is arranged and the ballistic element in the so between the first glass element and the third glass element formed recess is arranged. Thus, the ballistic element is covered in a mounting position of special protective glazing to the outside of a cover glass. This protects the ballistic element against environmental influences. In addition, the ballistic element can not be easily recognized from the outside. Usually, it is desirable that in a motor vehicle whose armor is not immediately recognizable. This serves the purpose that the armored vehicle for a potential attacker is particularly difficult to identify and so a targeted attack is particularly difficult.
Due to the fact that the ballistic element is arranged between the first glass element and the third glass element, a uniform glass surface also results on both sides of the special protective glazing. This uniform surface creates a particularly high-quality overall impression. In addition, the special protective glazing can thus have a flush surface over its entire main extension. Thus, the special protective glazing can be driven particularly well in a window slot of a vehicle door up and down to close a window and / or open. In the case of a transition of the second glass element to the ballistic element, on the other hand, an edge may be present which can potentially hinder an adjustment of the special protective glazing.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the ballistic element is connected in at least one of its edge regions with at least one adjacent glass element, in particular by means of a bond. As a result, the special protective glazing can also withstand bombardment in a transition region between the ballistic element and adjacent glass elements particularly well. By connecting the elastic element only in its edge region with adjacent glass elements, the ballistic element can oscillate freely in its center region and / or deform. This allows the ballistic element to absorb the energy from a bombardment very well. The vibration of the ballistic element and, if appropriate, its deformation can particularly well prevent a penetration of the ballistic element and thus the special protective glazing through a projectile.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the ballistic element is connected with its side surfaces facing the first and / or the third glass element in the edge region with the first glass element and / or the third glass element. This results in the first, as described above, the advantages in terms of shooting safety of special protective glazing. In addition, in contrast to a flat connection, it is thus possible to attach a foil to the respective side surfaces of the first and / or the third glass element facing the ballistic element. Conversely, if the ballistic element is otherwise connected to the first glass element and / or the third glass element, in particular over a large area over the entire side surfaces facing, this can cause a delamination of the respective films. By a different thermal expansion of the ballistic element and the glass elements, this compound could namely deduct the respective films from the glass elements.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that a gap is provided between the ballistic element and at least one adjacent glass element. This gap may be the above-described swinging and / or deformation of the ballistic element without damaging adjacent glass elements. Thus, the gap can increase the safety against shelling of the special protective glazing. In addition, the gap can serve as an expansion joint to compensate for different thermal expansion of the ballistic element and the adjacent glass elements. A gap width should not be smaller than a diameter of a projectile, for example 1 mm or less.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that in the gap between the ballistic element and at least one adjacent glass element, a damping element, in particular a foam element, a molded foam or a soft potting compound is provided. This damping element can attenuate the vibration of the ballistic element particularly well at a strike of a projectile and thus also increase the shooting safety of special protective glazing particularly. In addition, the damping element can reduce particular vibration and thus noise in the special protection glazing when driving the motor vehicle particularly. A foam element is a particularly cost-producible damping element. A molded foam and a potting compound is a particularly easily attachable damping element.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the ballistic element is laminated, in particular by painting the first glass element and / or the third glass element in the edge region of the special protective glazing. As already described, the armor of a motor vehicle and thus also the special protective glazing should not be readily apparent to an attacker. By lamination of the ballistic element, the special protective glazing is particularly difficult to detect. The painting of the first and / or the third glass element thereby represents a particularly cost-effective and easy-to-manufacture lamination. Usually, even regular glazing of motor vehicles in its edge region, for example, painted black, there to hide an attachment to the motor vehicle. For this reason, even with the special protective glazing such a coating for camouflaging the ballistic element and thus the armor.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that at least partially a common sealing element is arranged circumferentially on respective narrow sides of the glass elements and the ballistic element, which are outside the special protective glazing. For example, the special protective glazing can be peripherally glued peripherally at its narrow outer edges. As a result, the various layers of the special protective glazing can be closed here so that, for example, no water can enter between the individual layers of the special protective glazing and damage them. The sealing element may for example also comprise a film.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, it is provided that the recess in an installed position of the special protective glazing, in particular in a closed state of the special protective glazing in the vehicle vertical direction up to at most an upper edge of a door sill and / or a lower edge of a window opening in a body of the motor vehicle extends. The lower edge of the window opening can also end at a sealing lip of a window slot of the motor vehicle. Usually windows of a motor vehicle are curved from bottom to top in the vehicle vertical direction. That is, in a lower area, the special protective glazing in its installation position against a bombardment on the largest impact angle. Accordingly, it is particularly advantageous to arrange the ballistic element here, since here also the special protective glazing must withstand the greatest loads by a bombardment. In addition, the ballistic element is arranged in an area which is not visible to respective occupants of the motor vehicle and also potential attackers. As a result, the armor is very well camouflaged. In addition, the ballistic element arranged there can then easily consist of an opaque material, without it restricting a field of view through the window opening.
A second aspect of the invention relates to a motor vehicle.
