Description
The invention relates to a tile according to the preamble of
Another approach is to apply adhesive to the back of the tile and then turn the tile over and press it onto the substrate. The latter option is particularly suitable when laying tiles on vertical walls.
It is conceivable that with the known procedures, the exact, precisely positioned laying of the tiles becomes increasingly difficult, the larger the dimensions of the tiles to be laid. After laying and aligning the tile, a further waiting time is required until the adhesive has set, i.e. until it has dried so far and the tile has fixed that the joints between the tiles can be filled with mortar or a joint filler can. It is quite common to attach a so-called "insulation board" to the substrate between the leveling compound and the tile adhesive, in order to achieve thermal and / or impact sound insulation. However, commercially available insulation boards have considerable dimensions, so that laying the insulation boards also proves to be difficult. Dimensions of an insulation board of 2.50 x 0.60 m are quite common. In addition, the insulation panels must first be connected to one another in their edge areas in order to create a continuous insulating layer without thermal bridges. As a result, the tiler has to face several additional work steps, which overall slow down the laying process and thus also lead to an increase in the costs incurred.
However, if the insulation board is omitted, then with such a conventional laying of a tile and a material connection between the tile and the substrate, there is direct impact sound transmission. In addition, the tile covering does not have any thermal insulation in this case. In new buildings, insulation of the subsurface is regularly provided these days, which consists in placing an insulating layer in the screed or below the screed. It has been found, however, that such insulation does not provide adequate thermal insulation or impact sound insulation. Consequently, additional insulation between the substrate and the tile is not only useful, but also necessary.
Therefore, tiles are already known, on the underside of which an insulating layer is provided in order to enable insulation against impact sound and / or thermal insulation. For example, the

Overall, it can be stated that so far no satisfactory solutions have existed that enable both easy-to-use laying of a tile and thermal and / or impact sound insulation. Furthermore, there is a considerable need to create a way of equipping tiles in such a way that they can be laid as far as possible without differences in height.
The invention is based on the object of providing a tile that can be laid easily and with as few individual parts as possible and yet enables satisfactory heat and / or footfall sound insulation as well as simple compensation for any differences in height in the subsurface. In addition, a method for laying such tiles is to be specified.
The invention solves this problem with the features of the independent patent claims 1 and 7.
Further refinements of the invention are the subject matter of the subsequent subclaims.
A tile with a ceramic layer defining the top and forming the visible side and an insulating layer for thermal and / or impact sound insulation, which is firmly attached to the underside of the tile facing away from the visible side, the insulating layer having at least one plastically deformable leveling segment, has been developed according to the invention to the effect that the Ceramic layer and the insulating layer are flush along the circumference of the tile and the insulating layer has several recesses extending under the tile along the circumference of the tile, wherein: the plastically deformable leveling segment is formed by a cavity integrated into the insulating layer and the insulating layer has a plastic deformability or the plastically deformable leveling segment is designed as an elevation formed from the underside of the insulating layer, or the plastically deformable leveling segment is cohesively attached as a separate component attached to the underside of the insulating layer.
The visible side of the tile according to the present invention can have a decoration in a manner known per se, wherein a decoration can also be a monochrome design of the surface of the tile and is not necessarily to be understood in the sense of a multicolored representation or an artistic design of the visible side. The tile presented has an insulating layer underneath the ceramic layer that forms the visible side. The connection of the ceramic layer with the insulating layer means that it is no longer necessary to lay an insulating board and then the tile, but rather the laying of the tile together with the insulating layer in one operation, which speeds up the laying process significantly. In addition, such a tile can already be industrially prefabricated, which considerably reduces the costs compared with individual production of the insulation board and the tile and their subsequent connection at the construction site. Another, not insignificant advantage of the tile according to the invention is that it can also be laid on difficult substrates, such as for example on parquet or on industrial paints. Such substrates do not have to be removed and disposed of in a laborious manner. Rather, it is possible to apply the tile directly to these substrates. However, the insulating layer also has the advantage that fewer tiles are damaged or destroyed when the tiles are transported. This also has a significant economic impact.
The recesses in the insulating layer that reach under the tile are used when laying the tile to introduce impact sound insulating materials. The joints between two adjacent tiles are used for this. The recesses known per se experience a completely new use. The problem of impact sound transmission between two adjacent tiles, which was previously possible due to the hardening joint material, can be almost completely eliminated. Another advantage, which is essential according to the invention, is the use of at least one plastically deformable leveling segment, of which there are preferably several. The leveling segments allow a simple compensation of unevenness between the tiles and facilitate the laying to a considerable extent, because this compensation no longer has to be effected via the leveling compound or the adhesive, which up to now has ensured this compensation of the unevenness through a more or less heavy application and required a lot of professional experience from the tiler in order to guarantee a high-quality installation.
Plastic deformation is generally considered to be an irreversible, i.e. permanent, deformation. The associated property of a material is called plasticity or ductility. The prerequisite for this is that a material is formable, i.e. has a low degree of brittleness. The plasticity or plastic deformability therefore describes the ability of substances to irreversibly deform (flow) under the action of a force after a yield point has been exceeded and to maintain this shape after the action. No deformations or only elastic deformations occur below the yield point. According to the invention, there is a firm, permanent connection between the ceramic layer of the tile and the insulating layer. Various methods and procedures can be used to apply the insulating layer. In order to keep the effort of fixing the insulating layer low, the insulating layer is firmly connected to the underside of the tile. In the simplest case, this material connection can be an adhesive connection.
The leveling segment according to the invention can have different characteristics and configurations. One proposal is that the leveling segment is formed by a cavity integrated into the insulating layer and that the insulating layer has plastic deformability.
On the one hand, the insulating layer is itself plastically deformable and thus allows level compensation at any point on the tile. On the other hand, the inserted cavities create areas in which the resistance is reduced and thus the plastic deformation is simplified. These cavities can therefore preferably be provided in the corner areas of the tile.
Another embodiment of a tile according to the invention consists in the fact that the leveling segment is designed as an elevation formed out of the underside of the insulating layer. In this case, the reverse case is used, according to which, instead of the cavities in the plastically deformable insulating layer, elevations are used which are provided at locations which, experience has shown, require height compensation. As a rule, these are also the corner areas of the tile.
Another idea of the invention is that the leveling segment itself is designed as a physical component and is plastically deformable. In this case, the leveling segment is attached positively or materially to the underside of the insulating layer and represents a separate component in the manufacturing process. However, this does not change the advantageous option of industrially prefabricating the entire tile.
With regard to the material thickness of the insulating layer, it may well be sufficient if this is one third of the ceramic layer, with designs in which the ceramic layer and the insulating layer have the same thickness are also possible.
With regard to the execution of the leveling segment, various geometries can be used Use. There is thus the possibility that the plastically deformable leveling segment embodied as a molded elevation or a separate component has a cross-shaped geometry or a rectangular, circular or octagonal geometry equipped with at least one cavity.
If a cross-shaped leveling segment is used, it is advantageous if this has a size that corresponds to the overall size of the tile, so that this cross-shaped version of the leveling segment is arranged diagonally below the entire tile.
For example, rubber, some metals or metal alloys are particularly suitable as materials for the leveling segment that are plastically deformable. Of course, other materials can also be used which have the properties mentioned, which is why the aforementioned examples are not to be understood as conclusive.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the leveling segment which is firmly attached to the underside of the insulating layer can have at least one cavity. This suggestion contains several possible solutions. Thus, a cavity present within the leveling segment can initially be used to improve the plastic deformability of the leveling segment. For this purpose, the at least one cavity is integrated into the material of the leveling segment, that is to say enclosed in it like an air bubble.
Another possibility is that in the leveling segment having a rectangular, circular or octagonal geometry bores are made, which lead to a weakening of the material cross-section and thus also facilitate its plastic deformability. In this case, these holes are designed as blind holes.
In addition to the fact that a single leveling segment below the tile may be sufficient to ensure the leveling function of the tile, the invention is also based on the fact that the tile has several leveling segments. As has already been stated above, it is advantageous if such leveling segments are provided in particular in the corner regions of the tile.
- -direct application of the tile adhesive to the substrate, -position-oriented support of the tile to be laid on the tile adhesive, -compensation of the unevenness of the substrate by applying pressure in the sections of the tile to be laid that are higher than that of an adjacent tile by applying pressure in the area of the leveling segment under the elevation of the tile so that it deforms plastically.
The novel tile according to the invention also enables a new method for laying such a tile. The few procedural steps already show a considerable simplification of the work involved in laying tiles. The application of a leveling compound can be saved by the method according to the invention, so that the material costs required for this and the required amount of work are also reduced. In addition, there is a saving in working time, since there is no need to wait until the leveling compound has dried. Rather, the adhesive required for laying the tiles can be applied directly to the substrate, even if it has bumps. The unevenness can be compensated for in a simple manner by the tile according to the invention.
After the tile has been fixed, an insulation filler is poured into the recesses of the insulation layer in accordance with a further embodiment of the method. The insulation filler is sprinkled into the existing joints after the tile has been laid and thus also fills the recesses in the insulation layer. This measure achieves improved thermal insulation, since the interspaces of the insulation filler contain air which, due to its low coefficient of thermal conductivity, has very good thermal insulation properties.
The insulation filler consists of loose bulk material and can, for example, consist of perlites, plastic balls or fibers. The sprinkling can be carried out with a broom or a brush and only takes a little time.
Following the filling of the recesses in the insulating layer and possibly the joint present between two tiles arranged adjacent to one another with the insulating filler, the joint is closed with an elastically deformable joint filler. This can be silicone, for example. The consequence of this is that the joint filler inserted into the joint does not allow any impact sound to be transmitted. However, silicone also has the advantage that it is watertight and therefore, for example, especially in damp rooms, moisture cannot penetrate between the tiles and thus into the substrate.
