Dabei nutzt die Erfindung aus, dass sich in Crashversuchen, welche vom Anmelder an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin durchgeführt wurden, gezeigt hat, dass sich die Anhängerdeichsel auf dem Querträger der Kupplungskugelhalterung abstützen kann. Dadurch kann das Eindringen der Anhängerdeichsel in den Pkw-Innenraum verhindert bzw. erschwert werden. Erfindungsgemäß soll die Schutzplatte dafür sorgen, das Abstützen der Deichsel auf dem besagten Querträger sicherzustellen.
