Description

In Verbrennungsmotoren wird das Öffnungs- und Schließverhalten der Ventile durch die Nocken der Nockenwellen bestimmt. Dabei wirken die rotierenden Nocken über Nockenfolger – z. B. in Form von Kipp-, Schlepp- oder Schwinghebel – auf die Ventile ein. Die meist zungenförmigen Nockenfolger weisen zumeist einen ersten Kontaktbereich zur Betätigung der Ventile und einen zweiten Kontaktbereich auf, über welchen die Nockenfolger auf Abstützelementen ruhen. Die Nocken wirken auf die Nockenfolger ein und heben jeweils die dem Ventil zugewandte Seite des Nockenfolgers an oder senken sie ab. Bei Nockenwellenverstellern oder auch sonst im Betrieb von Nockenwellen können seitlich auf die Nockenfolger einwirkende Kräfte auftreten, welche zu einem Verkippen führen können oder zumindest die Steuerung der Ventile unpräzise machen.In internal combustion engines, the opening and closing behavior of the valves is determined by the cam of the camshafts.
