Zum Transport und Lagern von Fleisch und Fleischerzeugnissen von der Erzeugerstufe bis in die Endverteilerstufe werden genormte Mehrwegtransport- und Lagerkästen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff verwendet. Vor diesem Hintergrund liegt der Erfindung die Aufgabe zugrunde, das eingangs beschriebene Verfahren zum Verschließen eines stapelbaren Transport- und Lagerkastens zu verbessern. Das Verfahren soll so geführt werden, dass die Oberseite des Transport- und Lagerkastens von einer Schutzfolie vollständig abdeckt wird und der so verschlossene Behälter seine Stapelfähigkeit behält. Das Verfahren soll für beliebig gestaltete Transport- und Lagerkästen einsetzbar sein und insbesondere für genormte Mehrwegtransport- und Lagerkästen, die der
Gegenstand der Erfindung und Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist ein Verfahren nach Anspruch 1. Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Folienblatt mit überstehenden Rändern auf einen zu verschließenden Kunststoffkasten aufgelegt. Danach fährt ein an die Öffnung des Kastens angepasstes Formwerkzeug in den Kunststoffkasten ein und werden am Umfang des Formwerkzeuges überstehende Randabschnitte des Folienblattes mit Siegelwerkzeugen lokal auf dem oberen Rand des Kunststoffkastens angesiegelt. Das aufgesiegelte Folienblatt steht an dem Außenumfang des verschlossenen Transport- und Lagerkastens über und deckt diesen vollständig ab. Dadurch ist der Inhalt des Kastens für Lager- und Transportzwecke ausreichend gegen Einflüsse von außen, insbesondere gegen Schmutz, Flüssigkeit und Fremdkörpern geschützt. Dadurch, dass das Folienblatt vor dem Ansiegeln nicht plan den Mündungsbereich des zu verschließenden Kastens überdeckt, sondern mittels des Formwerkzeuges um ein vorher festgelegtes Maß in den Transportbehälter haubenförmig eingeformt wird, ist das aufgesiegelte Folienblatt nachgiebig und kann nicht beschädigt werden, wenn gleichartige Kästen aufeinander gestapelt werden.The invention and solution to this problem is a method according to claim 1. An dem Rand der Behälter dürfen sich dabei keine Abdrücke des Siegelwerkzeuges bilden. Das Siegelverfahren und die dazu verwendeten Werkzeuge müssen so konzipiert sein, dass die Siegelungen ungeachtet der vorgenannten Einflussfaktoren stets unter einem definierten Siegeldruck ausgeführt werden. Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführung der Erfindung wird das Folienblatt punktförmig auf dem Rand des Kunststoffkastens angesiegelt. Dabei werden zweckmäßig Siegelwerkzeuge verwendet, die einen schwenkbar gelagerten beheizbaren Werkzeugträger und als Pendelauflagen ausgebildete metallische Kontaktelemente zur Erzeugung der Schweißpunkte aufweisen. Das beschriebene Siegelwerkzeug ist in der Lage, Neigungen des Behälterrandes, eine Welligkeit des Randes sowie sonstige Unebenheiten im Verlauf des Randes auszugleichen. Die Siegelstation weist erfindungsgemäß ein vertikal verstellbares Formwerkzeug auf, welches in einen bereitstehenden Kunststoffkasten einführbar ist und an die Öffnung des Kunststoffkastens angepasste Außenabmessungen aufweist. Die Siegelwerkzeuge wirken auf den oberen Rand eines in der Siegelstation positionierten Kunststoffkastens und weisen jeweils eine pneumatische Andruckeinrichtung, einen an die Andruckeinrichtung angeschlossenen beheizbaren Werkzeugträger sowie mindestens ein metallisches Kontaktwerkzeug zur Erzeugung einer lokalen Siegelverbindung zwischen einem am Umfang des Formwerkzeuges überstehenden Folienabschnitt und dem Rand des Kunststoffkastens auf.
