Das Gehäuse weist Mittel zum Verbinden des Gehäuses mit dem Fahrzeugchassis auf, wobei diese Mittel symmetrisch um eine Ebene angeordnet sind, um welche sich einerseits die Drehachse des Elektromotors und andererseits die Drehachse der Radnabe schneidet. Diese Mittel zum Verbinden sind außerhalb des Elektromotors angeordnet, wodurch es möglich ist, den Elektromotor schon direkt mit dem Gehäuse zu verbinden und anschließend den gesamten Antrieb mit Elektromotor im Fahrzeug einzubauen. Durch die Symmetrie der Mittel zum Verbinden des Gehäuses mit dem Fahrzeugchassis ist es möglich, einen Antrieb einer ersten Fahrzeugseite auch auf der gegenüberliegenden Fahrzeugseite ohne Veränderung des Fahrzeugchassis zu verwenden. Das Gehäuse besteht vorzugsweise aus einem Gehäusedeckel, an welchem der Elektromotor befestigt ist, und aus einem weiteren Gehäuseteil, in welchem die Radlagerung angeordnet ist, wobei beide Gehäuseteile Mittel zum Verbinden mit dem Fahrzeugchassis aufweisen. Vorzugsweise sind diese Mittel so ausgestaltet, dass sie als zylinderförmige Anformungen am Gehäuse, insbesondere am Gehäusedeckel, und dem weiteren Gehäuseteil angeformt sind und einen zentrischen Durchbruch aufweisen, welcher es ermöglicht, mittels Schrauben den Gehäusedeckel mit dem weiteren Gehäuseteil und gleichzeitig das Gehäuse mit dem Fahrzeugchassis zu verbinden.According to the invention the electric wheel drive on an electric motor, which over a spur gear a wheel hub for driving the vehicle wheel, especially an industrial truck, drives.
