Abstract

Es wird ein kapazitiver Sensor 2 bereitgestellt, um die Gegenwart eines Objekts, wie einen Finger des Benutzers oder einen Stift festzustellen. Der Sensor umfasst ein Substrat 4, beispielsweise aus tranparentem Plastik wie PET, auf welchem Elektroden angebracht sind. Eine widerstandsbehaftete Treiberelektrode 60, beispielsweise aus transparentem ITO gefertigt, ist auf einer Seite des Substrats angeordnet und eine widerstandsbehaftete Leseelektrode 68; 70, welche auch aus transparentem ITO sein kann, ist auf der anderen Seite des Substrats angeordnet. Somit kann ein insgesamt transparenter Sensor bereitgestellt werden. Eine Kurzschlussverbindung 30 wird ebenso bereitgestellt, welche ausgestaltet ist, eine Verbindung zwischen zwei Stellen auf einer der Elektroden herzustellen. Die Elektroden sind mit dem jeweiligen Treiber- 6 und Lesekanal 8 verbunden. Durch Bereitstellung der Kurzschlussverbindung zwischen zwei Stellen auf der einen oder anderen (oder beiden) Elektroden, wird eine Verbindung mit niedrigerem Widerstand zwischen anderen Stellen auf der Elektrode und dem jeweiligen Treiber- oder Lesekanal bereitgestellt.
