Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
The invention relates to a new breeding of roses. It had been found that there had been a pale yellow flowering polyanthus hybrid which: is good for the production of cut flowers in the greenhouse is suitable, not yet existed '. A small-flowered pale yellow such Rose, which can also be used as a garden plant, was still unknown.
Gewächshaus am, und die, Blüheigenschaft muß anhalten·.With such roses, it comes down to durability the flower color in. Greenhouse on, and the, flowering property must continue ·.
The inventor solved this problem by providing starting material used for this neiuei breed, which surprisingly had genes for yellow color and to the offspring, although the parent in question was predominantly pink in color and has only one yellow spot on each leaf base. It is the variety Pinocdiio (rose fairy tale). One of the parent lines of this variety, the Rose Privy Councilor Duisberg, has yellow flowers. It was not to be expected, however, that Pinocchio would transmit this flower color to some offspring would. The inventor was of this opinion. He found that the yellow flower color was opposite to everyone other flower colors with the exception of white are genetically recessive. He succeeded now Crossing the Pinocchio variety with the yellow-flowering polyanthus hybrid Goldilocks, the excellent greenhouse properties ten of Pinocchio to be transferred to this new breed after he had determined that Pinocchio is also excellently suited for the transfer of such properties.
A great number of offspring were observed by Pinocchio until it was established that in fact in some specimens the yellow color of the flowers was visible and persistent.
The second parent, the Goldilocks variety, shows recessive yellow color of the flowers, and it was called Seed strain crossed with Pinocohio as the pollen strain. (The crossing took place in 1950.) Here the inventor consciously accepted that Goldilocks does not have a graceful bud and flower shape. This According to the inventor's plan, the deficiency was supplemented by Pinocchio's graceful and well-established buds open flower. The inventor believed that these properties were due to a reasonably large number of them Offspring would be transmitted.
The inventor raised about 134 seedlings to a fully grown state.
The. new rose combines the best characteristics of both parent species, and has more Improvements that make them particularly useful for harvesting cut flowers in greenhouses as well makes it suitable for garden cultivation.
